Re: Some real Mustang GT info

Well it is under $25,000 then like they kept saying it would be. By $1. Awesome.

Wonder when we'll get a complete options list with pricing. Which begs the question - how much money could Ford rake in with a $150 fog light delete option?

So I guess most GT's will be around 28-29k. That just seems really expensive to me. What is the base price of the current car? Too bad there was no concrete performance data.

There's a few vids and pics posted there from the Mustang Drive or whatever it was they were calling it. There one nice one from the inside of the auto GT. It sounds sweet!

Base price of the current bottom feeder V6 is $18,775 (with destination charge) with no options.

Base price of the deluxe GT is $24,300 (with destination charge). A well-optioned car (M5) is around $26,500.

Base price of the Premium GT is $25,470 (with destination charge). A well-optioned car (M5) is around $28,200.

Re: Some real Mustang GT info

A lot of reviews are coming in from people that had a chance to drive it. It should suffice to say that they were all VERY happy with it. All report very little to no body roll. They say it's MUCH better than previous Mustangs in every respect. There is some pitching, but only when you FLOOR IT. They say front drop during hard braking is minimal and nothing like the previous models. Even Z28 owners who were there love the car...Ford has a real winner on their hands here, but some of us already knew that

If the Ford brochure is correct and it does 0-60 in 5.2 seconds, then it will be Mach1 fast. With the quality being so good on this car and the much better performance it gives...I see quite a few Camaro owners going to the blue oval. With Dodge and Ford putting out pony cars two years before GM, I see GM not selling as many Camaros as they'd like.

Re: Some real Mustang GT info

Looks like the GT curb weight came in at a reasonable 3400lbs. A lot less than was being rumored at times.

Tell me this, why would you want to get a Convertible Chrysler PT cruiser turbo for 30K if you can get GT Convertible for the same price?

This car falls in the same category as the Chrysler 300 for me:

I cannot get over the aesthetics of the thing. From the door on back, the thing makes me wanna puke.

Re: Some real Mustang GT info

I am seriously considering the new Mustang, however I actually want a GTO not only because of it's performance, interior, and stealth appearence, but also because I know those things have near truck-like chassis & structure components. It's built to hold up barrelling over unpaved outback roads, so it's not about to loosen up as it ages or flex or bend by going over one too many potholes as our cars here sometimes do on our much more extensive paved highway system.

The new Mustang DOES have a great sounding exhaust. The best I've heard from a production car other than the GTO. I think the exterior is great looking, especially in low light. If you miss the attention-to-details interior of the 1960s, you'll love the Mustang's new interior.

If you ever sit in the new Mustang interior, you WON'T look at your 4th gen's interior the same way ever again.

I've never prided my 4th gen interior as being a benchmark of quality. I would hope that the the Mustang interior is a bit better than one from 12 years ago

Re: Some real Mustang GT info

if their car was a bit wider, had nicer rims, and lowered an inch or 2 it would look 20x better. to me when i see this car in that standing high skinny/cheap tire stance, i think of a 95' mustang v6. am i alone on that one?
