The roof thing on the RINSPEED is kind of neet. Other than that, garbage, all.

I agree that roof idea is pretty cool.

I am gonna go out on a limb here. I always thought it would be cool to switch dark tinted windows to clear ones for night driving. Not be completely opaque or completelyu transparent, but rather, tinted, and then untinted... Perhaps this techonology will one day be available? Probably won't be allowed to be used on vehicles.

They make Transition lenses that tint in the presence of (I believe) UV light. They won't tint indoors at all, only when you walk outside.

Yes but I was thinking more of a dark or nothing type of deal, although I would love to try the transition "technology" out on some windows... Seems like it could be something good to have... That way tint laws can be relaxed and cops at night don't have to worry about not seeing in...

The ferrari 575 Superamerica has a glass roof that when you push a button it changes the amount of tinting it has. It's pretty neat.

Here's a quote from another site:

"The use of electrochromic glass means that the driver can completely control the level of light entering the cockpit. There are five tint levels available and the glass can go from dark to light in under a minute, at the touch of a button."

I read somewhere ... that they'll be using that glass on commercial airliners so the passengers on the sunny side can control the amount of sun coming in.
