Some good news from Ford.

Re: Some good news from Ford.
Ford Fusion is a nice car. C&D and MT liked it too. I'd buy one over a Camry, G6 (except GTP), Accord, Stratus, Hyundia, or Malibu.
Saturn Aura is the only midsize sedan I think I'd buy over the Fusion.

Re: Some good news from Ford.
I said a week ago or so that Fusion is the best lookign car in it's class (IMO, anyway).
Only thing I am not crazy about are the taillamps.
Of course, like I also said earlier, Fusion is a pretty thinly disguised theft of the CTS styling theme.
I suppose this helps Ford in 2 ways:
1) Gives Fusion a hot and good looking styling theme.
2) Being on a $18,xxx or so priced vehicle, they have a chance at "cheapening" Cadillac's new found image.

When you consider that the Fusion sold 4k units, without incentives, when it was barely on the lot...why does a G6 need $1,500 rebates to sell 9k when they're all over the place? I've argued with a co-worker forever over the G6 vs. the Fusion, as I don't see where the Fusion has a real tangible advantage over the G6. Styling is subjective, admittedly. What you like, you like. But looking at everything else, I don't see where the G6 gives up anything except having a couple less speeds in the tranny. I like the looks of the G6 better, too.
I read that article earlier, and was happy for Ford...and wondering about Pontiac at the same time!

Re: Some good news from Ford.
At SEMA, they had all sorts of Ford factory "pimped out" Fusions, and I have to say, they were pretty damn nice. Unfortunately, they had Funkmaster Flex promoting them the whole time.

I wonder if the first one hints at possible SVT styling.....
The run of the mill is nice, but too boring for me. I would consider an SVT model to replace my current (aging, fast) SVT sedan

good to see Ford moving so many units. i like the look of the Fusion alot, but i also fall into the category of Darth about the Cadillac styling. if i was in the market for a sedan right now, the Fusion would be at or close to the top of my list.
