So why not import the Holden SSX after 2005?

If the goat moves state-side, Holden loses 20k car sales a year. While that wouldnt matter to GM NA all that much, 20k cars is quite a bit to holden. So what Ive done, free of charge for GM - of course being the die-hard I am - is develop a way to keep Holden thriving and make a kick *** car.

SSX awd system with SAAB's 2.3T. Mate it to some sort of 6-speed and watch the EVOs and STIs cry for mercy. Import lovers would be confused, GM loves would rejoice to the heavens. Imagine that, a 4 cylinder that would appeal to the youth, a novel concept.

Maybe this belongs more in the what car you'd like to see thread, but this would seem like a logical progression.

btw, with a Holden awd system, how long before you think we'll see Holden in WRC?

I'm sure they have plans to fill the 20K void...as for the SSX.. Its a commodore size car so a 4cyl in the SSX would make it gutless due to weight..

AWD system is going to be available across the range, so you will find a AWD option on the GTO..

Maybe not a 4 cyl, but the monster turbo V6 (400hp) that Holden will be building for Alfa could be an intersting combo

Why bother with turbo's

Drop a LS6 in it and it will do nicely..

Heck if the Monaro GTS were available in the states today, I'd run out and buy one!

Holden will continue to do niche vehicles for GM-North America once GM produces RWD coupes here again in a few years.

Holden also intends to expand to other markets (including the US and Canada under their own name), so they'll have plenty to keep them busy for the forseeable future.
