So what was the "Big surprise" Lutz spoke of?
I was thinking last night that it could be a 2004 Collecotr Edition Corvette...
2004 will be the last C5, and as was with C3 and C4, there will likely be a special Collector Edition...
Perhaps this is it? Remember the 96 (Grand Sport and all 6-speed) offered the LT4 motor.

Darth, you maybe right, but I just can't see GM (albeit they have let us down before) pumping us up this much for a special edition Corvette. It's just not a new enough idea to really get my blood pumping.
We need something new x 2 (= new/new).

Well, you know....
As long as we're speculating w/o basis, what about a last-of-the-generation '04 Collector's edition Corvette that debuts the Gen IV V-8, a la the '82 Corvette with the '84's TBI 350?
Probably not going to happen since it would knock some of the newness off the C6 debut, but stranger things have happened.

By definition of "surprise", I'm expecting a new and unforeseen model being at Chicago, otherwise it's no surprise at all. Like a full size RWD chevy sedan, a Camaro concept.. something along those lines would be a surprise.

I was pretty much flipping channels and didn't catch the whole segment. Callaway sounds about right. I think that's what it was.
