When I complain about GM, I'm pointing out places where they need to make improvements, and making sure that we (customers) get what we want, instead of simply standing by and watching GM spin itself into a deeper and deeper rut of boring, ugly, or just plain misguided product lines.

I think I am doing a good job in leading others to voice their complaints as well. This is the best way I know how to get results -- speaking up.

If you dont work for GM then dont jump on the bash wagon

If they made wise choices then there might not be a need to bash

They've only had a little over a year with Lutz actually doing anything.

Bill Ford hasnt been in very long either and look at how Ford is doing after JAQ Nasser.

Geez your getting angry over a forum,Ford has the MSNBC to worry about

Angry

How could GM expect us not to be pissed at them? I mean really? We get one person saying "Have faith" and another cough*Lutz*cough saying "maybe after a 30 year nap" After hearing snotty remarks to one of the most loyal following in the world how in the hell can we not be pissed? I have been a Chevrolet lover ever since I was in third grade, not because of family as no one in my family from either side had ever had Chevys. But lately, its been EXTREMELY HARD to stay loyal, i dont want a Chevy for my next car...i want a Pontiac...I know, not a big change or anything, but i mean chit look at what Nissan is doing, the 350Z/G35 are some of the most beautiful cars to come out lately IMO and what does GM do? Kill there competitor in that category.

Plus that cigarrete analagy is the wrong thing, to me atleast its like this: GM was on drugs, then in 1967, they became clean, then in 2002, they picked up some heroin and started using again...i know that may be a bit extreme, but im sorry, the more i think about it the more i really get pissed at GM.

When Ford decided to kill the mustang more than a decade ago, people wrote in expressing deep hate for that idea and what did ford do? continue production and now look at where the mustang is? what does GM do? say screw the F-body and all its fans, who cares about them, theyre worthless. we have the silverado biotch suck on that.

Oh BTW, 3 years ago, my dad didnt even know they still made Camaros...good job GM

The reason is quite simple. We are GM performance loyalists. We have been competing with Ford performance cars for many years now.

Now look at how many performance vehicles and options Ford is coming out with. Now compare that with GM, and you will see where many of us are coming from.

GM should see it as a good and healthy sign that so many enthusiasts still feel anger over some of the things they do.

Maybe angry enthusiasts...are enthusiasts who care. It sure is better than apathy.

While we're on the subject of how Ford enthusiasts saved the Mustang from becoming the Probe...here's an interesting quote from Car and Driver:

"This heresy stopped only when then-president Donald E. Petersen was deluged with outraged mail from Mustang faithful, much of it, according to folklore, using the same salutation: 'Dear A$$hole'."

Well, yes. Its like yelling at someone who's trying to quit smoking that they are no quitting fast enough. Unless you're right beside trying to help them, you're in no position to criticize.

Basically, unless you work at GM and have first hand knowledge of what's going on, I really don't think people should be trying to jump on the bash wagon. Give the guys a break. They've only had a little over a year with Lutz actually doing anything.

oh, btw: ZL1 is the top Camaro.
actually its more like taking away all the good afordable cigarettes and replacing them with bland ones that provide no headrush.. and although the company still makes good cigarettes they are out of mosts pricerange... so what are us middleclass people supposed to smoke!?

You know, I once proposed stronger measures towards GM to make our point as F-body enthusiasts, but few were willing.

I proposed that we collect every F-body we could find around Michigan, and anyone else who was willing to join, and drive them all to the Renaissance Center at the same time...

Like, right about 7:30 in the morning... on a workday... when Bob is sure to be in the office.

We could, non-violently, and without calling anyone an a$$hole, make our point by knotting downtown Detroit traffic into a rat's nest for half a day.

I'm sure the local media would find it very interesting.

Anyway, when I proposed this idea the first time, folks decided it would be better to make a banner out of a bedsheet for the Dream Cruise.

That got all kinds of exposure.... NOT.

Thumbs up

If you ever try to get some people together again to pull a stunt like that I would be in for sure.
LOL, I can see it now, Bob Looks down from his office, "What in the Hell?"

I tried, everybody farted out and decided to write something stupid like:

"Save our F-cars"

On a damned bedsheet and hold it up at the Dream Cruise.

I'll bet it got a lot of attention...

My idea would be about 20,000 F-cars simultaneously driving down to the Renaisance Center and parking in front of it at 7:30am on a Monday.

We, of course, would place a strategic call or two to the local news channels....

Wish I was around. I would've done that in a heartbeat. Just for the sheer cool factor of it.

PacerX, I too kicked around that idea, my very first post as a member on this site was in the Michigan forum suggesting something like this. The more I thought about it, it really gives off a bad image. Our cars and the people who are into them don't need to be known as "the hooligans that closed down Jefferson Avenue for a day", which is exactly how the media would paint us. Nope, acting like jerks is not the best way to get attention.

The banner at the Dream Cruise actually did get quite a bit of pub...as a matter of fact I heard from somewhere that Bob Lutz had his picture taken standing under that banner.

Wilson,

I was there and it did precisely NOTHING.

LAME

Yeah, Lutz got his picture taken... give me a break.

Nada. Zip. Zero. Zilch. Eephus.

No press, no impact, no return. See, you get back only what you risk...

Nobody ever said anything about acting like hooligans. Its called a peaceful protest - and is a damned fine American tradition. Hellfire and brimstone, the damned COMMUNISTS AND ISLAMIC WHACK JOBS pulled one off in Washington recently protesting the coming war, and you're going to tell me that WE can't???

No felonies. No drunk and disorderly (note the time... you have to be REALLY serious about getting loaded to stay that way until 7:30am).

One nice thing about it would be the opportunity that Camaro and Trans Am owners ARE NOT a pack of uneducated redneck simpletons.

And I'm here to tell ya brother, since nothing else has worked so far, why shoot this one down (again) before you even know if it possible?

It would be an incredible feat of logistics to pull off, somewhat on par with moving army around.

A wise person once said:

"There will forever be people in life who will look only on the difficulties of things and fail before even trying. Avoid them like the plague."

No offense, but would your dad even buy one? If not, then it wouldn't matter what he knew about the car.
