Since GM seems to follow with a twist.....
Since GM seems to follow with a twist.....
It seems that GM seems to be the followers of the industry, just changing the product a little to slide it in and still get some market share. They seem to be copying a lot of other manufactures...
SSR-Prowler
Solstice-S2000 and others....
This isnt always a bad thing. I feel the Solstice will do well and spawn a huge performance aftermarket.
Since DCX is doing so well with the dodge magnum "sort wagon" do you think this is making it easyer for GM to build a case for the Kappa nomad. Its a sport wagon that fits into compact class. The same people who would want a Magnum but ant afford it or want a V8 can get a similar concept in the Nomad.
I know this seems a little far fetched but one can hope.

Re: Since GM seems to follow with a twist.....
The Kappa Nomad was envisaged as a Mini Cooper competitor.
A true Magnum competitor should be based on Zeta. I can see a 240 horse 3.9 as a base engine...and optional 5.3 and 6.0L could bracket the Hemi RT.
But what will compete with the 420 hp, 6.1, SRT-8?

you guys do realize that DCX's "high performance" motor is comparable to the "base" motor in the SSR, GTO and Corvette, yet we give DCX all this credit for making such a super power plant?

HEMI
everything else
Re: Since GM seems to follow with a twist.....
The hemi is a newer ground up motor that has more potenial. Just like the LS1 does over the Lt1. The Ls2 is just a upgraded version of the current Gen III motors.

With your turbo SS and the large aftermarket you probably know a little bit about the potential of GM's LSx motors.

Both motors feel great to me....it's just that one feels 40 hp and 55 ft/lbs stronger to me.

I guess you didnt get the Memo....SSR gets the 6.0 LS2 next year and 6spd manual.
420hp is what I hear the LS2 will really put out when dyno'ed.
