Wouldn't that ultimately be even less of a "real" GTO than the Monaro? At least, that is in the eyes of some - to me it was spot on. The purists (whoever they are) would really be ticked then.

I think the HSV GTO version of the Monaro would have made for a visually more exciting GTO than we (the US) got and that may have been appropriate, but in the end even more costly. I'm not sure that one of the new HSV range would be welcomed as a GTO. Interesting to ponder though.... they are a little over the top style-wise.

I like the commodore SS looks alot better than the HSV. And the G8 looks alot better than HSV IMO also. I think the G8 should get the LS3

a 4-door GTO? no way. It was a coupe, and should remain a coupe.

That didn't stop DaimlerChrysler from making a 4-door Charger, though.

No. Plain and simple. Leave the four-door flying bricks with inappropriate heritage names to Mopar.

Definately not.

I don't say this because the car's a sedan. I say this because in person, the car's bloody obnoxious looking.

Sure, it's pretty photogenic, but in person it looks like a cross between the worse case ricer and a studyhall drawing by someone with way too much testosterone.

The body on the VE is already aggressive looking. The HSV takes it over the top.

Besides, who know what the future will hold for the GTO name?

No way! Leave the 4 door muscle cars to DCX.

I think the grill is fine, a GTO was never supposed to be a trans am, but it should be more aggressive than your average coupe...

I submit that if they can't do it as a coupe, they should at least implement saturn/rx8 style suicide rear mini doors...

which isn't a bad idea come to think of it... the rear seats on the 04-06 were spacious, access was the only drawback... anyone think that would sell?

No, because even if you get past the 4 doors, GTO shouldn't be the biggest car on the pontiac lot.

Besides, it would suck for GTO to be so easily clone-able again.

Also, as guy said, it's probably too over the top for it's audience anyway. Sure, misstoobitchy and scooobaru fans might shell out well into the 30s for their favorite rally inspired turbo charged rice-rocket. I don't know that too many V8 american brand enthusiasts are dieing to get into that look, especially for near corvette money.

G8 GXP. It looks like it would send the Charger SRT-8 running for its mommy.

Or make it die laughing.

It's too goofy-looking. Leave it in AUS.

The GTS and Club Sport R8 are both awesome looking I would think they'd make a good G8 GXP.
