Same size or close to as far as length goes but the width could be a little smaller though.

2004 Mustang Exterior size is about perfect for me. Keep that and make the interior space more efficient / usable and it'd be great.

I think the actual size of the vehicle, (I'm almost sure it's safe to assume it will be around the same size as the 4th gen but w/o the big overhangs and such), is less important than how proportional everything looks. You just know a car that looks good when you see it, the 4th gens looked small but we're pretty big, and we can thank their wonderful styling for that I think the '04 'Stang was a good size, but I'm completely alright with how big my '97 Z is. The car needs to look athletic and proportional, somethin' the new 'Stang absolutely doesn't look like with all that junk in it's trunk. I think if Chevy goes with an evolution of the 3rd/4th gens w/ heritage cues and trims the excess fat I will be happy.

The Mustang might not be big, but it sure as hell looks it when parked next to anything, even a midsize sedan like an Impala or Camry. A guy at work as a V6.

It looks big. :blah:

I agree WERM, the '04 Mustang was about the perfect size for a ponycar in my eyes also.

Stretching the wheelbase by a half a foot or so, while keeping the overall length the same, would - I imagine - make the interior more space efficient.

Same here.

I agree that the Mustang looks too big. I swear you could slap another door on the Mustang and it would look right at home. It looks like a coupe version of a sedan. What are the dimentions of the car because it looks much larger than the previous car and even a 4th gen, even though a 4th gen is deceptively long.

Saying that, I voted for the Camaro to be smaller than the Mustang (if it really is as big as it looks). I was thinking a few inches shorter than a 4th gen, somewhere around 188".

I want it to be about the same size in lenght as a 05 stang . Miller light has a regional promo ( IN , IL ) giving away a 05 GT and has one sitting inside the grocery store I was in tonite . It had a beer display built all around it . I was just lookin over , and admiring just how perfect nailed the propotions . This car lowered looks even better .

When I went on vacation this year we rented a Mustang Convertible and it felt just as large as my Impala. I think the Mustang is too big for a pony car. The size is perfect for a T-bird replacement. Make mine the size of a fox body Mustang with a longer wheelbase.

I'm sure I've seen a couple hundred '05 Mustangs by now. Yeah, they're pretty cool....but their bigger size, long rear overhangs and surprising bulk (especially from certain angles), keep me from really loving them.

And I really want to love the next Camaro............
