Re: Saw a new eclipse and a grand prix GXP today

The Eclipse had a huge following in the 90s back in the AWD Turbo days, they lost a lot of the fans in 2000 with the current car and now I think they will lose more with this new fugly Eclipse.

What I think they should have done was take the chassis and powertrain of the Evo and put a nice sleek 2-door body on it with a bulge in the hood and call it the Eclipse. That way Mits Motors would have a awesome performing Evo and Eclipse built at the same factory.

A guy at work has had a new Eclipse for a few weeks now. Its nice to see a change, but its a little too weird looking for me. The side windows are strange with that huge pane of glass that stays put and the bulgy rear end makes it look like a porker from the rear. Maybe it'll grow on me once I see another color than that burnt orange (of which the only 3 i have ever seen in orlando have been that color).

That idea would almost be impossible. Not to mention that the current Lancer platform is to be no more.

I've driven one for 25 miles. I've idled with one, floored it to 6k in first and second, and played with the Tap Shift. I have an SLP 2 on the left on my Z28...I'm all about a great sounding V8.

Don't be skeptical...this is one of them.

yeah I read that this morning, what a porker, but you can only bend sheetmetal so much to get rigidity before you start having to pile it on to get what you want.

I think alot of people will be dissapointed in the weight of a new camaro. Seems like most people want a 3200 lbs car, but I dont see it happening.
