Saturn Aura

I am a big fan of the styling on this car...

I was doing a little reading on the car, though, and was stunned when I read that it is on Epsilon.

Not so much because of the platform, but because of the size...

From all the pictures of the car, I've been assuming it is Impala-ish or Grand Prix-ish in size. (I guess I assumed it would be on the W-platform, but if that is going away soon, I don't know why I ever thought that, anyway)

But, being on Epsilon... you would assume it will be Malibu-ish or G6-ish in size.

Does anyone have exterior dimensions for the Aura?

Re: Saturn Aura

Same wheel base as the Maxx and G6 sedan if I remember correctly. It might be longer than those two though.

Re: Saturn Aura

Ya, it must just be me, but I when I see these pics, I think Grand Prix in size...

I'm pretty disappointed now... I was really thinking this could be a new alternative, but I wouldn't want the smaller size.

It looks like it has a bigger rear overhang than the G6 so it probably is a bigger car.

all I know is this, that is one sweet looking sedan.

I hope the interior is similar to the concepts interior as well.

From all the prototypes I saw this season I would say....if you've seen the concept, you've seen the production model as far as size.

Re: Saturn Aura

I've seen it, and it's definately G6 sized, not Impala sized.

Re: Saturn Aura

IMO the W cars are lumbering barges, as in the old american sedan style. wheels pushed all the way in, sheet metal pushed as far as the frame will bare. end result? big car outside, small car inside.

as long as the Aura is big enough on the inside, there's really no need for it to be bigger than it is. nice, taut european sized proportions would be best of all.

but hey, that's just me.

I agree about the wheels being not pushed to the corners enough on the W-cars.... a product of it's old platform...

But... that said, I perfer a larger sized vehicle... to the point, that I doubt I would purchase a Epsilon vehicle, based simply on size.

What if the next Epsilon was longer and wider than say the Malibu Maxx AND offered AWD? Perhaps the LS4 will live on in the next Epsilons, this time with the 6 speed auto.

That might be more interesting.... and possible too if the Impala (or it's replacement) goes RWD.

A 320hp awd v8 Malibu SS would be pretty sweet............If the Impala is going RWD what about the Monte Carlo?

Could the Monte Carlo share the same platform as the Malibu or would it be trashed in favor of maybe a Malibu based Chevelle?
