Re: Ron Z on TV....
OK...I'll let one thing rip:
Here is a guy who claimed he had an MBA -- actually put it in his resume.
Turns out he lied. No MBA.
Sorry........I had no respect for him BEFORE that lil pearl came to light.
I may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I clearly recall sitting in Dedham, Mass. listening to a telecast where he was introduced and we heard all about his ideas of 'Brand Management' -- after the telecast, I went outside for a smoke. I clearly remember saying "this is a plane crash in slow motion -- mark my words!" I was soundly criticized for making that statement --- I was told I was negative and that I should give the guy a chance.
.............we all know the rest of the story.

Re: Ron Z on TV....
There is an interview with John Rock in the latest "Motor Trend Classic" or whatever their new mag is called. John Rock was head of Oldsmobile for a few years until the mid 90s. Previous to that, he'd been at Holden.
Apparently Mr. Rock arranged a presentation one day where he'd advocated selling Holdens as Oldsmobiles, to appeal to the market of people who preferred RWD and V8s. He recognized that part of the reason that people preferred trucks was that you could get them with the powertrains that people wanted. Gold ol' Zarrella accused Rock of wasting his time.
I think that if they'd introduced a Cutlass and 98 based on the SWB and LWB Holdens that Olds would still be here today.
