It looks like Bengal, Sky and Solstice are all a real "go", they now have GM program numbers and launch dates.

Oh, so you mean if I took a crap in a toilet, imagined wheels under it and gave it windows, thats what it would look like?

It's almost like GM is intentionally trying to produce ugly cars.
Oh, BTW, basing a Camaro off of that little solstice platform would make me more angry than anything else.

Compared to, say, a 4th gen.
How much shorter is it? How much narrower?
Just curious, since it's so small.
I for one would like to see them bring the Camaro back on the B-Body.

Time to shoot down misconceptions of a few people who hasn't actually seen the Solstice with their own eyes, and are following the rest of the herd in thinking it's no bigger than a Miata.
First of all, it is true the Solstice is short. In length, it's about 2" shorter, but that's the only area it matches Miata.
Width:
Solstice- 71"
Camaro- 74.1"
Mustang- 73.1
Miata- 66."
Track (f/r):
Solstice- 60.3/60.5
Camaro- 60.7/60.6
Mustang- 60.2/60.6
Miata- 55.7/56.7
Total overhang:
Solstice- 58"
Camaro- 92"
Mustang- 82
Miata- 67"
A gen 4 Camaro with the same overhang (front & rear combined) as a Solstice would be 6" longer than Solstice, while a Solstice with the massive overhangs of a 4th gen would be only 6" shorter than Camaro.
In short, with not much more than more than a slight extention of wheelbase and a bit more front and rear overhang (which the production Solstice will no doubt have), the Solstice could easily be a Camaro. Finally, GM will be running only 2 sets of rear drive components world-wide, Corvette & Sigma. Solstice will run with one of those.
What it's boiling down to is if you want a lowslung sports Camaro, the Solstice architecture is it. If you want an upright design like the 1st gen or the current Mustang, the new GTO/mid-size sedan VE structure is the choice.
If you think GM is going to make a special structure just for Camaro alone, just keep on waiting.
