Question about Transmissions...
ahhh...they have a 5spd auto for RWD. Its so popular that BMW uses it for the 3 and 5 series. The 5L40E is on the CTS, SRX, and STS along with XLR. GM is probably gunna go right to 6spd like the one they had in the Velite. I belive Zeta was designed around the new 6L80E.

Wasn't it said that it was going to be cheaper to build a 6 speed instead of using the 5 speed.
6 speed auto was to be in the '05 Vette but got pushed back. 2006 RWD cars and trucks should start to have the 6 speed.

Any way you look at it, a 2005 Corvette with the 4-speed slushbox might be a car to avoid, new or used. It's too bad GM is pulling crap like this. The "new engine/old transmission" trick is something Ford pulled in the early '90s Panther platform cars.
