What Johnny wrote is actually based on just about the most solid info you can get. If he want's to tell anyone about it, he will, but I'll just say it didn't come from this board.
I also think some of you will also be intrested in reading the next edition of PHR as well.
Remember I said that.

You wouldn't be talking about "artwork" for a certain next-generation "C-word" inspired by "rumored" styling cues by a certain board member would ya?

Why arnt they bringing back the firebird?
Why arnt they bringing back the firebird?
2. Firebird, while a fairly consistant seller the last few years, still had pretty poor sales. Even the low production Corvette seriously outsold V8 'Birds.
3. Pontiac is moving back to it's position in GM's lineup it had before the 1970s, when it became basically a higher styled Chevrolet.
4. Pontiac is moving upscale away from the "boy racer" market or cars that flamboyantly scream performance. The upcoming GTO with twin hood scoops and tailpipes and a rear spoiler is about as wild (appearence-wise) as Pontiac is going to get.
5. Solstice and GTO are their halo cars. Firebird is no longer needed.
6. Chevrolet is has become the "value" division. This means that high "value" (or low priced, depending on how you look at it) performance cars are going to wear the "bowtie" from now on.
7. And finally, from my purely personal opinion, Firebirds actually died in 1982 when they lost their own engine and became not much more than Camaros with Corvette noses attached.
...or later when they looked like a Ford Probe on steroids.
