Maybe not.

If for some reason, a re-tuned version of the current Cobra motor (350 hp, or so), doesn't become the Mach1 motor, I could see the 3V 5.4 taking it's place.

Also, after the idea of a 5.0 mod motor died...but before all of this Shelby business had been confirmed....there was talk of two versions of the Cobra.

A 4V 5.4 of around 400hp, priced at the same price point as the current Cobra, and a high end Cobra with the GT's SC 4V 5.4 that would sell for over $40K.
One of the big things that the S/C 4.6 and the 5.4 have going against it is weight. That being said, if the two engines made the same peak hp, the 4.6 should make more trq which will help move a bloated Mach 1. Plus the fact that they probably have a lot of left over parts from the S/C 4.6 motor. I could see maybe a 4V 5.4, but not a 3V when you can have a 4V motor on the same engine. 400hp will probably be the target power putting it right between the GT and Cobra. Any less the 400hp will make it an expensive GT and anything more then 400hp will cut into Cobra sales. Thus this is why I see a S/C 4.6 more applical then any 5.4 motor. Maybe a N/A version of the GT motor. I could see that working, should put it right in that hp range and would help cut cost if it is basied off a engine already in production. Actually now that I think about it, a 4V 5.4 would be more applical then a S/C 4.6. Not only do you get rid of a S/C base that is only used on one motor, but you can help cut cost of putting a 4V 5.4 into a Mustang if it is put into a higher volume car then the Cobra will be.

I think they'll be doing that car around when the Camaro comes out, but who knows. I'd rather see a Challenger though, I always liked them better.

I would too, but we will see a Charger bcuz it is a bigger name. They need to bring back Plymouth and the Cuda along with the Charger, kind of like the GTO/Camaro relation.

I'd be fine with it. Just as long a the Camaro and the Corvette destroy all, it's gotta be like that again or nothing.
