Poll of the week: Chevy styling
Re: Poll of the week: Chevy styling
HHR and....gasp.....the SSR.
I think the Cobalt also looks pretty good despite itself (not 100% sold on the Honda grille, and still getting used to the sedan's rear door look).
I think the Impala is attractive, despite being bland.
I like the Corvette, but I don't like the lights-bumper design, and I think the C5's interior looked better, though the C6's is put together better.

I think the HHR, the Impala, and the Cobalt...Tho I could nit-pik as many do, I think they're closer to "right".
Vette is Great, don't get me wrong, LOVE the body lines!...just them dang headlights, looks more 3000GTish.
SSR looks cartoony, to much mono-plastic.
Aveo...
Monte looked better as a Lumina...big bulgy rear, bubble tail lights, looks funny, to me.

Re: Poll of the week: Chevy styling
Chevrolet definitely needs a design language... no two cars share the same DNA if judged on looks alone. That bold grille just takes too much away from the revered badge.
It kinda reminds me of Nissan's pathetic orphaned designs of the mid-80s and 90s. I still don't know if Nissan actually has a design language?

Re: Poll of the week: Chevy styling
This is a great topic, and an eye opener for me. After looking at the Chevrolet website, I'm surprised how few vehicles I'm enthusiastic about, and I'm a die hard GM fan.
My thoughts:
Aveo - Looks like a pie wedge driving down the street, and screems economy.
Cobalt - Was excited about it when I first saw it, but only the upscale models catch my eye now.
Corvette - Absolutely love it. I loved the C5, but the C6 is utopia.
HHR - Like it. Good size, utility for it's price, and actually envokes some emotion whether you love it or hate it.
Impala - Too bland for it's name, and too much like the Malibu
Malibu - Love the SS. The rest are so-so. The SS is what the base Malibu should look like.
Malibu Maxx - Barf. Has to be one of the weirdest shaped vehicles on the road. For utility it's great, for styling it's a zero.
Monte Carlo - Screams "I love Nascar". That's all I see in that car.
SSR - Like the risk that GM took with the styling, and I think it would have been a hit if it weren't so dang expensive. (and heavy)
Uplander - Who the heck gave this vehicle the o.k. to be released to the public. It's UGLY. I drive have a Chevy Venture myself, and while it's not the best looking vehicle on the market, it sure beats the Uplander. This is a HUGE step backwards from a styling standpoint. For utility however, it can't be beat. I love our Venture. If this poll was for ulility/usefullness the Uplander would be my top pick.
