2007? But then I won't be able to use my youthful exuberance as my reasoning for buying a car.
I hate the thought that GM is just going to be dull for another 4 years. But at least Ford is exciting.
On the topic of the Impala and the Monte....
They look exactly the same. Weren't they supposed to get a reskin? Oh well. The supercharged 3800 is better than nothing I suppose, at least they almost have as much horsepower as the Maxima now. Sad that the supercharged 3.8L V6 is putting out the same power as Nissan's N/A 3.4L or whatever is in the new Altima.
new poster, but long time reader......
anyways, if the new Imp/Monte hasn't changed, then what is this????? yeah, I know it has a different name, but this looks more like a new Impala

Looks like a reskinned Impala to me...
FWIW... there are some pics of the 2004 Chevrolet Aveo (Metro replacement) too...

AVEO!
I was hoping for more cosmetics to go with the SS packages. Oh well. I guess "SuperchargedSS" differentiates it from the standard appearance Monte SS of previous few years. The Jon Moss Impala SS looked better with red bowtie and diff wheels.
Oh yeah, couple pics of new Mercury Montego, based off Ford Five Hundred if I recall.

Is that what Canadians get instead of an Impala? Maybe an Epica is a Canadian version of the Impala...I dont know. :P
Anywhos....anyone see the styling cues of an early 90's Honda Accord in that picture? Looks very similar from the front.

My fiance has a 2000 Impala. Only exterior differences I see are some of the bodyside moldings are now matched to the exterior paint, the car is lowered, the rear spoiler is different than the optional LS spoiler. As for a re-skinning, I don't see any differences. Someone was mentioning the fog lights, they're in the same location. Maybe up close there are some small tweaks, but I'm beginning to believe the only significant change is the engine and lowering.
Is that it? I wasn't expecting a lot from the Impala and Monte restyles, but I was hoping that they could at least be told apart from the current models...
The Aveo is HOT

well it's official, those were the real 2004 Impala and MC. but it still leaves the question of what the Chevy Epica is. IT's either a new car (seems unlikely, seems it would overlap models) or a car for another country.
