Disagree, those are ugly. The IS350 is maybe a touch better, but to me it's really just a different kind of ugly.

There hasn't been a Skylark since the mid-late 90's, so I think enough time has passed that Buick could safely go back to that name -- they just have to make sure it doesn't suck.

I want to like it, because I'd love to have a small, premium American car. This car just looks bumpy.

Excelle GT sedan provides us with a good idea of what to expect when Buick releases their U.S. version sometime late next year. Reports suggest that a name change will occur before the Buick debuts here, and Verano appears to be the front-runner right now.

Verano has been rumored for a while now and I think it's about as awfull as Excelle. Just as Excelle is to close to Hyundai Excel (that Hyundai doesn't even want to be identified with anymore) Verano is too much like Suzuki Verona.

Is there anything italian about this? Let's hope the last one isn't any kind of hint...

Verano
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Verano can refer to one of the following places in Italy:
the Italian name of Vöran, a commune in the province of Bolzano-Bozen.
Verano Brianza, a commune in the province of Milan.
the Verano monumental cemetery in Rome.

No Verano, please.

We also have the Nissan Murano.

I agree, "Verano" is bad.

I think the IS250/350/F is a far far better looking car than this new Buick. Though I'm not sure why we're comparing them because the IS is going to be a class or more above this new Buick.

To the credit of the IS and the way it looks, it has been out for 5 years now. And the IS300 posted earlier in the thread is now over 12 years old.

It's not exactly fair to compare the looks of a 5 year old car to a car that's not even out yet. Styling trends change quickly these days. Cars seem to look dated before they're even replaced by their next generation.

The IS still looks pretty good though to me... especially on the inside.

Have we run out of good names for cars? It sure seems that way.

I agree with the comments about the looks of the IS... I think this generation looks pretty good, although the F has a few things that I don't care for slapped on it.

While I don't think this Buick design is too bad, the premise for the car is dubious. As stated, if Buick is supposed to be somewhat upscale, it doesn't need a small cheap car.
