I don't really want to get into a pissing match with you on stupid stuff.....so just stop it.

I conceeded the 250,000 number to 200,000, since I found that first and didn't want to serach through every thread in the forum.
It's still a huge number, but you refuse to aacknowledge that (now anyway).
As for you not saying stuff... Did you, or did you not say you'd consider buying an 05 Mustang? It's right there in that thread. Posted by you.
If YOU would consider purchasing an 05 Mustang (you keep avoiding this point for some reason), then, yes, all your doomsday posts about length qualifies as "doubletalk".

I believe that I did say.....maybe even on more than one occasion.....that I would consider purchasing an '05 Mustang. But did you check the date? That was before they were released...for goodness sake! Since then, I've seen them on the road, and feel they're abit large.
How'd you miss this thread.?http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...=stale+mustang
No double talk here my friend........maybe you're just have a bad day.

OK, fine. How about we go back to the 4.8" difference between the 82 Camaro and the 92 Camaro... 3 inches of difference is huge according to you, let alone 4.8 inches, yet no one could tell a difference without breaking out a tape measure.
Your only comeback is that you can tell a difference between two other cars. That's fine, but my point was two nearly identical cars have a 4.8" difference in length, and no one can notice it... meaning all the "too long, the sky is falling" rhetoric is being SEVERLY overplayed...
Also, if the 2005 Mustang is going to sell 200,000 units (with possibly more if they had the capacity) how can you possibly say that the car is too big for it's market? It'd be a home run by EVERY standard.
You keep ingnoring facts, and replacing them with your personal opinion on length and playing that off as fact... it's not.
Also, enough with the "you're having a bad day" stuff... I ignored it the first few times, but how about address the issue instead of trying to create distractions?
Re: The perfect size for the 5th gen Camaro
Also, a side note:
A G35 6-speed weighs in at 3,512 pounds... and that is with a 6 cylinder instead of an 8 cylinder...
Something to think about for everyone thinking 3400 is a must-do thing...

Didn't I say that 3rd gens are too big to be considered relevant in today's market?
BTW, I think a 4.8" difference is huge.
Did I ever say the new Mustang would flop? No. I said it's alittle too big for my tastes. I also said, medium sized coupes sell better than big coupes. Reference GTO vs G35 and SN95 vs 4th gen sales figures.
I never said Mustang is so big it won't sell.
I ignore nothing...I even respond to your misquotes, eventhough I should ignore them......
Also, when I said that you might be having a bad day, I was trying to give you a conciliatory benefit of the doubt.....but I guess in your rabid mood, you missed that too.
Re: The perfect size for the 5th gen Camaro
I think suggesting a comparo between SN95 and 4th gen sales numbers is a bit specious considering advertising was pulled after 98 for the F-body and that the Mustang for most of that period was Ford's ONLY coupe in the lineup.
I'll bite on the G35 vs GTO comparo even though I think there are some huge flaws with it...limited production, enthusiast appeal V8 monster vs a mass produced, refined luxury marque V6 coupe....?????
As a Poly Sci Professor once told me, "All generalizations are false, including this one." These comparisons have to be taken with a grain of salt because we cannot control for all the extraneous variables. None of this happens in a vacuum.

How can both hold true?!?!
As for you "vs" sales... in addition to the points Chris posted above, how do you think the G35 sales will compare to Mustang?

Filtering out every other real-world factor from G35 vs GTO is being a tad simplistic, and extremely unrealistic.

Bracketing Mustang with a sportier than Mustang Camaro (smaller)....and larger than Mustang GTO, is a good strategy.
No double talk...

Re: The perfect size for the 5th gen Camaro
Z284, you know that you can't compare the 4th Gen sales because of all they had against them. If it was fact that they did not sell just because of their size then I'd say fine, but if not, I personally wouldn't say that because it's just not right and has no credibility.

I'm not saying that was everything......but size certainly played a role, there's no denying it.

Coupes are 2 door cars regardless of whether they are based on a Sedan chassis or not. If it has 2 doors you refer to it as a coupe.

or from Wikipedia:
Sedan: A car seating four or more with a fixed roof that is full-height upto the rear window. Normally a 4 door; 2 door is rarer but they do occur (more so historically). This is the most common body style. In the U.S., this term has been used to denote a car with fixed window frames, as opposed to the hardtop style where the sash, if any, winds down with the glass. As hardtops have become rarer, this distinction is no longer so important.
Coupe: A 2-door, 2 or 4 seat car with a fixed roof. In some cases the rear seats are small and not intended for regular use; this is often called a 2+2.

Its personal preference vs. what is best for the marketplace. There's quite a few people here that are with you on the tiny-camaro thing, but the people here do not make a representative sample of the buying public at large or the target market for a Camaro as a whole. A significant portion of that market? Yes. More than half? I'd say probably not.
