Thumbs up Now THIS is pride in worksmanship!

Quick, name the lowest price car with a meticulously hand assembled engine. Nope, not a Callaway, or a Saleen, or even an AMG.

It's easy to forget that Ford Mustang Cobras have hand assembled engines signed by the people who put them together. This article puts it into perspective & drives it home!

I've mentioned this before. I think it's pretty awesome that the Cobra motors are hand built. I hope they continue to do this in the future as well.

Indeed, a very good article. It's nice to see that even in this day and age of heavily automated processes that you can still create a personal connection between someone who buys a car and the people who actually made it - even if in this instance it relates only to the engines.

For the consumer, it really puts a human face on what can be easily seen as a faceless corporate giant - especially if you have the opportunity to meet the workers on the line who made the car. It rightfully also becomes a source of pride for the workers too. Kudos have to go to Ford for continuing to employ this relatively small, but meaningful nod to the personalization of an otherwise anonymous process.

I'll say, especially those heads, wow, they are just massive, guess cause of the DOHC, never actaully seen one in person while it wasn't in a car.

Yep good 'ol Romeo Engine... great plant and a very proud tradition. I know several people who work there. Cobra 32V engines are very very well put together. They don't have the build variance like the LS1 or other mass produced engines, 4.6L 2V... Great program and to me its what made the Cobra and SVT what they are today. Ford should advertise this more.
