Gee, that brought back a few memories. I had a few of them.

Since we've been this Monza route before, I'll refrain from hijacking this thread talking about them again.

If you want to learn more, do a search on this 5th gen thread. It should still pop up.

While it appears that Pontiac will eventually switch to numercial designations on all their cars (the Solstice being the only possible exception) then I think Chevy should stick to classic "feel Good" names.

While many could correctly argue that some of these names have no right being placed on a new 4 cyl or v6 FWD car, but these names do conjure up images of "Classic-Americana" that make for great advertisements. Giving a car a heritage and/or lineage (regardless if its for marketing reasons only) does give GM an edge over many of nameplates that have no history or good-nostalgic-feelings attached to them.

The 4 and 6 cylinder engines that will be used in Chevys new line-up would be the following:

2.2 Ecotech 4 cyl - 140 Hp
2.0 Supercharged Ecotech 4 cyl 200-220 HP
3.5 V6- 200 HP
3.6 V6 - 250-260 HP

What selection of V8 engines do you think chevy would use in their cars in 2007 (Corvette, Impala, and Camaro??)?

A Camaro being 3 model years away seems like wishful thinking, especially given there is neither confirmation nor a single detail to be had about it.
Actually.... in the last hot rod magazine, they had an article about the new GM performance divison and some of it's car ideas. There was a drawing of a 2003 Z/28 (with 427ci written on it!) and what looked to be a mock-up of a 2003 Trans Am (with 455HP written on the side of a hood scoop ).
