Anyhow... the Armada mentioned in this thread is definitely not anything any halfway reasonable person is considering sporty or even trying to draw a comparison between the physical dynamics of the two.
Actually, the Armada was just about the sportiest sport utility I've ever driven. This thing is just as much fun as a Cayenne S or Touareg V8, but with real Landcruiser (U.S. spec Landcruiser, that is - not the real deal diesel version they sell everwhere else) levels of offroad ability and near-Excursion levels of towing and payload capability. The Armada is currently the best value in the full-sized SUV class, with the most acceleration for the dollar and the best handling. Similarly, the Camaro was the ultimate performance value. It was also let down by ride quality, build quality and radical styling that people just didn't take to.

Nissan could have built something like the Sequoia - an underpowered, unimaginative clone of a '97 Ford Expedition - but they took the riskier path. Worse yet, they could have taken the same direction that Ford took with the new F-150 - huge weight, lots of sound deadener and a cushy ride at the expense of real handling. Overall, the Nissan of today reminds me of GM back in the early '90s. They are taking big risks, but producing some great products (Altima, Armada, Titan, etc.) and some no so great products (Maxima, Quest...).
