Nissan 350Z with a....
The FX35/ FX45 are built on the FM chassis (G35), so the chassis can accomodate the 4.5L v8. As for if the skyline GT-R is coming over here, I hope so. I get either a yes or a no depending on who I talk to, all are credible sources. As for 340 hp from the v8, that is in Luxury car Q45/M45 trim, that engine can handle more if Nissan desires it to put out an additional few ponies.
BTW, there will be a 350Z roadster (droptop) coming out in 2004ish.

It's really dobtuful the wegiht of the V8 is enough more to really matter. I'm sure it wouldn't be 50/50 anymore but maybe 55/45---and front wheelsdrive cars are far worse---yet can be made to handle really well.
I know GReddy is preparing a 400hp turbo kit for the 350Z. But other than that, I don't know of any other turbo kits for the 350Z out there now. The compression of that engine is 11.0! I can't imagine these kits producing any more than 6#.
If they wanted to make a really fast car AND be true to the 240Z heritage (supposedly the point of dropping the "X"), they shoulda built the new Z on a shortened, lightened Sylvia (240SX) platform, with the 287hp VQ they have now, for ~$25,000. Nothing's more fun than beating up on Vipers, Z06s, 911 turbos, and Cobra replicas with an old NA 6-cylinder 240Z
A new lightweight Z could've been another platform for building a giant-killer. Instead it's more of a 2-seat evolution of the V6 F-body. The new Skyline should be interesting, a heavyweight bruiser. It ain't a Z, but it's not supposed to be. The 3300 lb. NA 6-cyl 350Z does nothing for me. I'd rather have a G35 for the same price.
Light is RIGHT.

They care more about handling then 1/4 mile dragracing..
And in road racing it is proven the biggest doesnt always win.
