4.5L 340hp V8? This would be an awesome swap or better yet a factory offered car. Wonder if Nissan ever thought of this.
I've only seen a few in Calgary--look prett damn good...and a V8 would only make it better

Yeah, I can't imagine any hesitation to bring such a car to these shores at this point. It would likely sell under the Infiniti brand for the pricetag it would demand. It would probably be wise to keep the "Skyline" moniker as well, even if it's main familiarity will be with an audience that will not be able to afford one.
A future Supra (also V8?) and RX7 also seem like fitting entries to this market.

haha--yeah I originally thought of the 5.6L--
(talk about a Camaro replacement!)
I just wonder if it would fit. It may or may not be same size as 4.5L--and the 4.5L wouldn't really have to have any alerations as for for power curve ect.
The 5.6 would really have to be altered a little for sports car duty--higher redline, more aggresive camshafts ect.
Be interesting to see how much hp the Titan 5.6L will have---you'd think with DOHC and 32 valves it could out muscle a 5.7L Hemi--I'm thinking 360hp

A 4.5L or 5.6L V8 in the G35 to make a Skyline would be awesome. My only question is that are we all sure that a V8 will fit inside of the FM platform? I've been under the hood of a few 350Z's so far and I see no room at all.
The reason for the V6 is because it is close to a 50/50 weight distribution. If they went and put some big ol' stupid V8 in the 350 then it would handle like pooh.
They care more about handling then 1/4 mile dragracing..
And in road racing it is proven the biggest doesnt always win.
