Not horribly bad, but why does every car manufacturer have to make the headlights look like they flew all the way down the hood. Absolutely ghastly in that respect, imo.

Re: New Nissan GTR (skyline)
did the japanese manufacturers give up their unspoken rule of only producing cars with up to 276hp? The article says the same powertrain will be offered in all markets with about 450hp.....
Re: New Nissan GTR (skyline)
I think the styling is ok but the wing is too subtle and the roofline prevents adults from fitting in the back seat. But at that price I'm sure they will sell hundreds.

Yeah, that's the first thing I saw.
Overall though, I love it. I actually like the front end (and I hate the new Eclipse front, go figure). It looks almost like an exotic. In fact it reminds me of that car that was on Top Gear last week (the one where he drove a diesel Audi A LOT of miles). I forgot what it was, but I think it was a MG or something, and it had a new Mustang engine in it.
Whatever, I'm straying. I like the new GT-R, I just wonder how much it's going to cost. Probaly around the same as a new Z06 or more since the R-34 is over $80k to buy and import.
EDIT: BTW, one thing that I love that Nissan is doing with their new cars (and that's including Infiniti as well) is that they are putting an enormous amount of detail into the headlights and tailights. I know it might seem petty, but I always look at the lights first, and the effects they add like with this car and the new M45 really draw me in.
http://www.gtrproto.com/: on this page click on gallery and check out the direct closeups on the lights. Love it.

That never actually happened. It was like the way they rated the LS1 Fbodies. They said they produced 276hp, but they were putting out well over that amount. A TT Supra from the mid 90s was NOT making 276 hp, not when we're getting one with 330hp.
Either way, that was dropped a few years ago.
Re: New Nissan GTR (skyline)
i liked the old skyline, and was dissapointed to here that the new one was basically a G35, which is a good car and all but not cool enough to be the GTR. But this one is just wierd looking.
Re: New Nissan GTR (skyline)
I would take it. Probably take a z06 over it still, but then again, we don't really know much about this car, just the basics. I am sure Nissan won't disappoint though. I think the new NSX due out in a few years has me more compelled though, after hearing that it will finally get a real engine, a v10, instead of the original hybrid drivetrain. I am sure the v10 will be inspired by no small degree by Honda's formula 1 experience.
