The new Ford F6 Typhoon.
It's a turbocharged DOHC, 4 liter, 6 cylinder 380 horsepower sedan that costs $43,000.

Too bad it's a version of the Austrailan Ford Falcon and won't be sold here, even if the FTA passes.

Neat car.
I'm not head-over-heels in love with it, but it IS cool.
Somebody down under gimme a GTHO-III with 5.7 litres fed by modern multi-valve technology and EFI...
THEN I'll be in the bathroom swapping my drawers for clean ones while simultaneously calling my banker to arrange a purchase.

Hey, that's a beautiful Nissan Syline (R,32/33).
What do you mean that's a Ford Typhoon?
Straight 6 and Turbocharged right? Almost 45-50 grand right? Yeah that's a Skyline......stop pulling my leg dammit.....Wait a minute....that really is a ford isn't it?

EDIT: guionM, where'd you get your name?

. Ford's 8's would be the 5.4's. That article mentioned the GTHO:
"Mr Flint’s promise of more FPV models to come no doubt refers to a turbocharged version of Ford’s forthcoming Territory SUV, expected to be dubbed Hurricane 4x4, plus – further afield - the range-topping supercharged V8 GTHO. "
Supercharged 5.4?

(Soon to be LS2/7)
Problem with Ford Aus 5.4 V8 is it size... the thing is huge
Ford had to put a bulge into the bonnet (hood) of the Falcon just to fit it in.

I know the current is a 5.4, but it has it's drawbacks for me. Size is one of them as mentioned already.
A properly prepared 351-C with modern cam and EFI will AMAZE you. 500hp and 500tq naturally aspirated - no problem.
And to maintain the old original badging on a totally new car would simply be awesome insofar as maintaining the link to the heritage of the original GTHO.
I guess I could live with it if the power was there, but the 5.4 just doesn't warm my heart like the old iron did. Not yet anyways!

Falcon GT: N/A 5.4 Dohc with something like 390hp and 380lb-ft of tq. The power is definitly there.

You guys, don't read me wrong - I love the numbers coming out these days in all forms.
My original post was an attempt to direct attention to doing an honorable remake of the original GTHO-III - yes, a "retro" car if you wanna call it such. I don't want it to look just like the original, just have those cues and styling links, and a 351 badge somewhere on it would simply be like the colored sprinkles on my loaded hot-fudge sundae, ya know?
Heck, the 03 Mach 1 was able to revive an authentic Shaker hood scoop while using all the electronics to monitor incoming air charge!?!?
So why can't my 5.4 turn into a 5.8 and have a shaker on top too?
