F5 will not be used..here is why...

1. It is the name of the most destrutive form or tornado...GM probaly doesn't want thier new coupe associated with images of mobile homes flying through the air.

#2 WWE I beleive has the name trademarked because it is the name of wrestler Brock Lesnar's finnisher. They use it on a lot of merchandise.

Being a wrestling fan pays off sometimes when talking about the future of the Camaro

BTW: Did you post about the "So you want to save the Camaro name?" thread on GMI and NAGTO?

To clarify, in my last post I never meant to say they would actually call it that, because they probably won't. I was just saying that "F5" is an easier way to say what we are talking about. That's all.

f5 was a model that was already used on a 1917 chevrolet called the "Baby-Grand".. there is my reason not to use it. F5 for a code name is cool.. like c6 but if they released the car without the word Camaro sitting on that cars body somewhere i would not buy it... I am hoping that in 2007-2008 there is a camaro to buy out of college.. if not I honestly dont know what i would buy.. but it would not be a car called the f5.....

I think the name's gay. Whatever happened to cool names like Trans Am, Charger, Cutlass Supreme, Riviera, Seville, Eldorado, Road Runner etc.?

They can keep their alphanumeric names.
