Re: New BF Ford Falcon Pics
Thanks for posting.
I have been a huge fan of the Falcon lineup for a few years now.
For the life of me, I don't understand why Ford doesn't bring those designs to the US market.
I would consider a new Falcon in a heartbeat - far over anything we have available up here right now.

Re: New BF Ford Falcon Pics
Even if they don't want to bring the car here, Ford should give us the damn engines. The turbocharged 4.0L I-6 is a hell of a motor. It is fairly powerful in stock form, and very potent when modified.I'd like to see this motor in either the fusion or five hundred and badged as an SVT.

Ford had the 4.9L I6 as a base engine in the trucks for 20 years - technology moved on...
When I think trucks (especially full-sized ones), I think big, raw torque.
Even the sport trucks should have good basic Tq without tthe need of forced induction. I don't think a 4.0L I6 would make many full-sized truck owners very happy with their purchase, especially the first time they hook-up a trailer with a car on it.

Now if you wanna talk about a Ranger or the Escape... that's a WHOLE different story!

Let's not get too carried away, the 4.0L Ford 6 is not exactly a BMW... it has an alloy head/iron block and weighs 217kg (the LS2 weighs 189kg!!!) and the latest version produces equal power to the smaller capacity 3.6L GM V6. Granted, torque is superior but it won't set the world on fire for performance. It wouldn't touch the GM 4.2L inline six for performance.
Ford have done a good job with this engine over the years, which began as a 3.5L OHV six, expanded in capacity to 4.1L until 1988 when Ford reverted to an OHC configuration. It wasn't until 2002 when the DOHC head was introduced. It's origins date back to the 60's although one would never know it, today.
Not wanting to start a pi##ing contest but it's not a clean sheet design like most sixes today. That would explain a lot.
