Angry This doesn't need...

....to get any uglier or the insults to go any further...but I demand an apology for that insulting label...or I'll just report this to Jason.

One of the "five", here...

Despite of my inferiority complex and jealousy over the "SS"... I secretly want "SS" performance without the killer ground effects and performance-enhancing scoops and bitchin' stripes... I'm just too narrow-minded to admit it.

And if you believe that B.S. I have a bridge to sell you... cheap!

Please, let me rephrase that so its in simple english without the sarcasm.

I don't want a stripped-down performance car;
I do want Cobra slaying performance in a CAMARO;
I don't want stupid graphics and lame-*** ground effects with no redeeming value other than to make me feel better about the size (or lack thereof) of my manhood;
I do want leather seats, pw, pl, AC, AM/FM/CD, carpet and cupholders;
I don't want my Camaro musclecar to be associated with lame P.O.S. quasi-performance cars like the SiveradoSS, SSR, ImpalaSS, Monte CarloSS, CobaltSS, etc.
I do want a model designation that differentiates my SuperCamaro from the base model.

Now that we're clear on that part... I also am offended by the "****" remark, but I'm fully prepared to chalk that up to ignorance, immaturity, and/or an inferiority complex.

Brains or no brains....let them have their car. This whole SS thing is becoming a "buzz-kill" for me.

I know what I want. Maybe GM just doesn't want my money.

Some of you guys are totally overracting.

Did soup lovers flip out when Seinfeld had the Soup **** episode?

Pacer's point is valid... turning every thread into a Z28 issue is old.

This ain't no damned comedy show.

My dad fought in WWII and the word **** is nothing to use lightly. There were 100 other choices to use there.

And I STILL disagree with his assertion.....

Was that really his point?

I think you need to reread his post because that is certainly not how I read it.

What PacerX did was to characterize all pro-Z/28 pundits as "*****" that wanted a stripped-down Camaro performance model. At least three of the five of us have chimed in saying that we don't want a stripped down model.

Meanwhile, I clearly stated that what I wanted is for the SuperDuperCamaro not to be associated with the "SS" klan, because that logo was being used on non-performance vehicles like the SilveradoSS, SSR, and various 4 and 6 cylinder FWD supercharged glam-cars. Hense my reasoning for calling it Z/28, plus the fact that I previously made of Z/28's history being unique to "Camaro."

None of the pro-SS pundits have answered this challenge.

And they won't. They just don't feel that strongly about it.

There is a lack of.........hmmmmmm.......what is the word........PASSION!

Something that we have in spades.

I absolutely can't believe this horsesh*t.

"I don't know who the h e l l you are....but I resent that connotation and demand an apology immediately!"

I think this response proves my point nicely.

There will be no apology.

"....to get any uglier or the insults to go any further...but I demand an apology for that insulting label...or I'll just report this to Jason."

Report it. If you're wound THIS TIGHTLY I'll take my chances.

"And while we're talking *****....there is that thing with the "SS"."

LOL.

"Was that really his point?"

Duh.

K, then I'll slow it down for you...

ANYONE who disagrees on this board with the Z28 party line is shouted down. They're not shouted down via reason, because the fact of the matter is that you have to be well aware of the histroy of the car to see any validity to the point - and most folks aren't.

It's old. It's BEYOND OLD.

I'm tired of arguing about it.

I spent hours figureing out a hypothetical option breakout based on an idea of Guion's, and the entire thread turned into the typical "Z28 or nothing" nonsense.

Red doesn't want to hear about it anymore either.

Get it yet?

First, not ALL of the Z28 pundits, BECAUSE I'M ONE OF THEM TOO. So quit trying to support your point by claiming that the nameless throngs of Z28 lovers out there were cut to the quick.

I was talking about folks HERE. My rough count is about 5. Next time I'll consult the US census. Maybe they can add this to their questionaires:

Should Z28 be the top car in the Camaro line?

If only 10% or so say yes, well then I guess you could be considered a minority and get a special Federal program or something.

Are you really this sensitive in your personal life? Do you really get THIS worked up? Are you part of the groups of people in this world that literally BEG for something to be offended by and then shout their outrage from the mountain tops?

If so... well then Don Quixote, I guess I'll be your windmill.

Great. Three of ya.

THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS of people passed up the Z28 for the SS. The VAST majority of people that had the cash for either bought the SS. I'm one of them, and I KNEW what the real differences were - I KNEW I was getting a $3500 hood and spoiler (AND a better exhaust - which I was going to rip off anyway, AND better wheels and tires - which I happened to like, AND a different spoiler, AND some fluff like badges and keyfobs).

SO, here's your opportunity:
Go buy a loaded SS when the car comes back, and then strip off the SS badges and put on Z28 badges.

There. You're happy. You got the top car AND you got Z28 badges on the side.

Be sure to remove them before you try to sell it though. Wouldn't want you to take a bath on it.

Oddly enough, I've seen a boat-load of Z28's and even V6's converted into SS cars, BUT HAVE YET to see an SS converted to a Z28.

Hmmm.... wonder why that is.

Guess what?

THE MARKET SAID OTHERWISE, and CONTINUES TO DO SO.

When you finally, truly deal with that fact. When you finally understand that for how ever much you go into hysterics about it...

THE MARKET DISAGREES WITH YOU.

GM DISAGREES WITH YOU.

THE DEALERS DISAGREE WITH YOU.

THE SS GUYS DISAGREE WITH YOU.

And finally, anyone else who comes on this board to discuss something DOESN'T NEED EVERY THREAD TURNED INTO THIS OLD, LAME, TIRED, POINTLESS, HYSTERICAL DEBATE.

Enough.

I'm assuming his job is to sell us Camaros....so I'm really hoping he reconsiders

Get it yet?

Oh yeah.....I may be alittle slow...but I'm getting it.

If 10% say yes and 90% don't care....which way should we go?

Any idea why? Maybe more Z/28's would have sold if they weren't picked clean of all the things that make them Z/28's. If Z/28 would have come standard with 17" wheels, I wonder how many SS's would have sold?

SO, here's your opportunity:
Go buy a loaded SS when the car comes back, and then strip off the SS badges and put on Z28 badges.

You're kidding me....right? I want some UAW worker to do that for me at the factory.

HELLO!

Something must have gone wrong.....I heard the car is on "hiatus".

THE MARKET ALSO SAID THE AZTEK WOULD SELL.

My point is this PacerX... I never shouted down anyone that disagreed with me. I've always stated my reasons for calling it Z/28.

BTW.... you must've missed my previous posts where I said....

"I was pissed when Chevrolet announced the 96 Camaro SS less than 8 weeks after I bought my '95 Z/28."

And, where I also said...

"My favorite Camaros of all time are the 67 RS/SS 396 convertibles."

If the 5th Gen Camaro supercar is called "SS", I WILL BUY IT. I just don't want it to be flashy with stripes and ground effects that don't do anything performancewise. (Besides, the stripes belong on the Z/28. )

I just want it to be fast, handle well and eat Cobras for breakfast.
