Mustang GT500 tested
Re: Mustang GT500 tested
Too bad it wont be able to own any of the factory stock classes. Itll be restricted all to hell / banned. Sounds farmiliar.
the 03/04s will go 10s with bolt-ons. (upper and lower pulley - non nitrous assisted) But at that level with an eaton I wouldnt want to run it without racegas / a 50 shot.
Like a month after they came out there was a guy in MM&FF running 10.9s all boltons / upper+ lower pulley.
With thease cars, They might as well have a KB pushing 8PSI from the factory. IDK If the new blower is as good as a KB, but its a twin screw.
Im seeing 9s with full boltons + pulleys.

Re: Mustang GT500 tested
I know the owner of a dealership here in FL and yesterday he told me the cobras will get a $20,000 markup from him. They also will be limited to around 7000 units total.Looks like getting one for list will be hard.Im on his list to get one ,but I did not ask him if I would get it for sticker. If not, lets hope for a Mach 1 or boss car in a few years.Maybe chevy will put out a camaro to die for by then also-but I won't hold my breath.

Hey, whatever you have to tell yourself to make up for using the stupidest argument in automotive terms. "Well slap a supercharger, or throw a cam in, or put gears in....".
For what it is worth, I know two dealerships here in the midwest who will be selling them for 1,000 over MSRP, and sold all the GT's they had for MSRP. I don't doubt some places putting 10,000 markups on them though.
Re: Mustang GT500 tested
It took GM 4 years to copy the PT Cruiser (HHR), dont look for a Mustang competitor before 2009. Demand will far exceed supply for the Shelby GT500s. It will be tough to find one under $50,000. I'll just have to get that 402 I always wanted for the GTO.
Re: Mustang GT500 tested
Hopefully Ford will keep their word and will increase production in the next year after the GT500 is released to keep up with demand like they said.
Let the dealers get fat and happy feeding off the me first crowd and then when Ford floods the dealerships with the car the next year they'll have no choice but to sell them at MSRP.
