It's a race car, not a street car. Don't be surprised if the styling is over the top or too much for most of us. Some people seem to miss that and the guys at svtperformance were busy calling it rice.

For what it is or supposed to be (race car), i like it.

500hp N/A 5.0L.

I hate FORD just as much as the next Chevy guy, but I have to totally give them props for at least putting out cars that get people excited and are sporty and are cool. If Chevy did that, they would be gods, but sadly, they are too worried about their Malibus and Impalas and all those other crappy cars and trucks that dont excite anyone.

Yes, I like how it looks and no, I would never own a Mustang. The wing is over the top but this car has the power to put it to use. What I really want to know is whether or not this quote from the article is true--->>>
DEARBORN — In the minds of the motoring public, the Mustang is just a thinly-veiled race car.

Hehe. I love the mustang, but even i got a good chuckle from that quote.

The closest the mustang comes to that quote is the Cobra R.

Anyways, that GTR's styling does have some potential. Here's a simple photochop somone on stangnet did. Big racing wing is replaced by a ducktail, front air ducts are fill by the fog lights, the exhausts instead of exiting the sides exit the rear, and the hood is painted body color.

Race car concept or not, that thing is UGLY. Hell if it had a Camaro badge on it, I'd still call it ugly! JMO.

Those cars bring in money to make it possible to do exciting cars.

I'm biased on it, because I like the 2005 mustang I think this one would look alot better if it were a different color...like red or black.

BTW here's a baotload of pictures of the Mustang GT-R
Just keep clicking the next page button for more pics.

The interior is stipped...completely! Stripped Interior PIC.

I know that they bring in money, and im not disputing that fact. But what bugs the hell out of me is that Chevrolet does not have any COOL concept cars out there and has only the Corvette to excite people. The SSR looks decent, but is a complete turd. The Silverado SS looks slightly better than a regular Silverado, but has very marginal performance. And then look at their car lineup. They have NOTHING that is cool, nothing rear wheel drive, nothing muscle car. Nothing that is new that will satisfy the same crowd that loves the Camaro and Firebird and Mustang for what they are, performance cars!
