Motors. Big Ones. From GM.
Guys, really... is it necessary to argue back and forth on what a company might do and what it might not do?? It's all speculation, and its fun to talk and discuss and dream about what might come out. Now i kno i havent been here all that long, so it might ruin my credibility in ur eyes, but any news is at least SOME news. we kno that at the very least something is going on at GM. Take it in stride and look foward to what hopefully will come, and just be thankful powerful cars are coming back out, regardless of whose making them....

The personal attacks on PacerX however, are I think, over the top and uncalled for. I haven't always agreed 100% with PX...but he has shown commendable restraint on this one.
I wouldn't fault him for an "Alpha Strike" right about about now.
....PLEASE, let it go!
These types of childish outbursts are very counter-productive to the overall tenor of this forum and sure present a bad face to those "important lurkers" that we know are watching us.

I know I'm throwing more fuel onto this fire......but....
...... isn’t that exactly what PacerX is? I mean we don’t know exactly who he works for, and that’s a good thing, but he does work for a company that bids and contacts on outside jobs with GM. I don’t see why some people continues to flame and discredit him when he obviously is in the know. I'd imagine he actually has more technical information on some future GM products than guionM. NO flame intended Guion. You are a car god and I respect everything you come here with.
So in conclusion, lets everyone chill and just discuss, not have **** little girl fights.

Ok I’m done, seriously my last post concerning this.

Sorry, my emotions got away! I'm usually pretty positive. It's just annoying when we GM enthusiats get on the board to dream and find out as much inside info as we can, but the other camps jump in and highjack our threads and bash every glimmer of hope we have.

Related....this is the ONLY Forum I read for info on upcoming cars and such - regardless of make or model. The only one (though I probably should be checking out Brad's site, too).
Oh...sorry Doug. Send me to my cyber-corner if it will help.

PS....could someone please send me a PM and define "commendable restraint"? Thanks.

I've seen you on many other boards and respect what you've done, not only with your cars but your standing in those communities too.....but someone has to be the party that stops this destructive banter and moves us back to the center.
This is not "my" forum to send anyone but myself to their "corner", but a place I have put alot of effort into helping to build as the place that rises above all the internet rumors and is a real resource not only to people like us, but to a lot of people in the industry.
PacerX is a bull in a china shop sometimes, but IS a person that does have insider info and is one of the better resources we have here.
Sometimes it just pays to ignore the flames and make your points in the most factual basis possible.....let those who serve the crow take a bite of thier own creations.......
ROFLOL. Ok - well spoken and well written. So long as he doesn't pile the BS into my front (back?) yard, you have a deal.
And I really would like to see GM build this "super corvette" and any number of other creations along those lines - and would add my congrats to whomever is responsible for making it a reality. Competition improves the breed, and I'm certainly not brand-blind....if there were as many avenues to race an F-body as I have with Mustangs, its quite possible I'd still have the T/A or a different LS1.

I really don't understand all of this C6 bashing comparing it to the new Ford GT, like the Ford GT is going to be untouchable.
The current Z06 with 405 hp runs to 60 in 4 sec. flat and then to low 12s in the 1/4. The new Z06 which will be smaller and lighter and will have 100 or so more horsepower should be right at the GTs numbers which are 60 in mid 3 sec. range and 1/4 in high 11s which are also in the same range as the Viper SRT-10. I believe the C6 Z06 will perform just as well if not better, be alot cheaper, and IMO have the best styling.

You know you talk a lot of **** about how people are talking about vehicles of the future yet you do the same thing.

The price point for the new GT has been confirmed at 24 and change.

The ZL1 will easily beat the GT and the Enzo, no problem admitting that. I just think there'll always be that "you coulda had Porsche for that much" stigma attached to it.
Finally, I hope that PacerX is right. And I believe he's in on the real sh*t, so I don't want to see that info source to leave here(but man is he irritating sometimes
). I like to see 625hp Vettes. It doesn't detract from a GT. The GT offers a lot a of things that make it worth what it is. I like GM products when they get it right, GTO, CTS-V, and C6. But I questioned earlier, why defend GM so rabidly, when they're dropping value performance for you guys while Ford is stepping up to the plate? When the Camaro gets back, I guess it will all be good again.

How is the bashing of Ford and other members before any Ford person arrived in this thread follow under that pretense either? You can have all of the hope you want, but when you bash others with cars that do not even exist yet, that's crap. I've been here for 5 years and have seen members come and go and have had many more GM products than Ford ones. I get tired of the childish generalizations that continue to come out.

Yes, I knew it was gonna happen in here too, but I think they are more convinced now.
This information is not BS, GuionM's new post BTW is incredibly insightful on what's gonna be going in GM and is just a great post. Pacer might be a little more quick to use an attitude, but on the insider information I don't think I'd doubt him much.
BTW hp_n, you ask a good question. "But I questioned earlier, why defend GM so rabidly, when they're dropping value performance for you guys while Ford is stepping up to the plate?" That is because the people that were running GM that dropped us and wanted to keep giving us **** are no longer in charge or anywhere near GM. They are doing what we want now, not just what they want. Give time for the new products to get out over the next few years. If these changes never happened, there almost definetly would not be a 5th Gen being worked on right now and neither would a bunch of other good stuff that's gonna happen. We've all critisized GM in the last few years, but it's thankfully different now with a different direction. The right direction. (Lets just hope their designers and stylists are in the right direction too!! I think they are though.

Quick note...speaking only for me personally (much safer that way). I have never said that anyones actual info was "BS". I said that talking in absolutes about something that isn't coming out for xxx amount of time is not smart (nicer, more PC way of putting it). I read the stuff that many folks have to say - I put more credibility in some than in others.
Now that we're clear on that, lets see what happens, and hope for the best.

You're right! In this case, the GM faithful started the hijacking in this thread. However, I was not talking about this thread but more in general. And, just like you're tired of the the childish generalizations, I'm tired of the negative poop you F*rd guys spread in a large percentage of threads on this board. It's also obvious from other people's posts that I'm not alone. IZ28 wouldn't have used the third post in this thread to ask where you guys were if he weren't expecting another round of the same old BS negativity from you.

What could it be that the mighty PacerX smells in the wind?
Why...
Could it be....
THE FOUL STENCH OF CROW BEING PREPARED FOR CONSUMPTION?

Sorry Ford fans... looks like it's going to be rough going for you folks
BY THAT I MEAN... any Ford fan who was beginning to think no other mfr. was going to be up there with new Ford performance vehicles coming out in the next few years (the GT, the followon Lightning, and the 05 Stang) will probably be destined for some disappointments. Not saying Ford will not be putting out some fine performance vehicles - they will - but I occasionally sense the Ford fans believe they will be alone at the top of the performance heap in a couple years and I doubt that will be the case. Other than that dilemma, the future looks *reasonably* bright for Ford fans
