BTW Ragtop, on your stripper model, what options came with your car standard? pw, pl, cruise?

No flames intended, and this is merely an opinion...and we all know what opinions are worth. But it is something I think more people should at least think about...

GM - owns Saab & Daewoo. Part owner of Subaru, Fuji Heavy Ind. (Isuzu)
Ford - owns Volvo, Jaguar, Land Rover. Part owner of Mazda.
Chrysler - Now owned by Germans so who cares what they own!
That means by your logic you can't buy any Chrysler vehicles because the profits go to Germany. No flames intended. I really do agree with you. I'm looking at it more and more like this, though. Some manufacturing industry is better for our countries economy than none so I'd rather have those transplants here than not.
Re: Motor Trend "Bang for the Bucks" list
well trouble with the 4th gen Camaro's, was the performance great (with the odd trait of solid rear axle), but the build quality(both real and percieved) and refinement were bottom of the barrel in that pricerange..
Subaru Legacy GT or the MazdaSpeed 6.. nice choices!
Wish GM had a midsized V8 RWD performance 4 door sedan that would be a viable alternative to a turbo'd AWD performance sedan.

So soon when that new made in the USA GM car has mostly foreign parts ask yourself... which is more American? It's not so clear anymore.
Re: Motor Trend "Bang for the Bucks" list
There is actually a very technical formula the government issues manufacturers in order for it to claim it was 'built in xxx, USA'...and the bottom line is that it has to sum up 51% only. I can't remember if it was by gross weight, value or what to be honest, buts very easily to manipulate.

I mean, Im not going to order a V8 with no air, no stereo, and manual windows, but I dont need lighted key slots and ventilated seats either yanno?

No one (relatively speaking) wants this kind of thing anymore.
People WANT leather. Heck, you can get it in trucks and in Cobalts now.
People WANT OnStar. It is a significant safety and convience item.
Peopel WANT 6 Disc changers.
etc, etc ect...
Want we NEED is a kick *** car that offers all the goodies that is priced like the new Mustang.
They can do it, why can't we?
