Some of it is deserved.......some of it is not.

I think it's very telling that in this issue of "Automobile" magazine, Jean Jennings actually says "subjective" several times........are any tests objective? Not really.....you will always get the writer's 'feelings' (in my opinion)

One other thing.....I've ridden with enough journalists to realize that quite a few have very poor driving skills...esp. on the track (drag and road alike.....)

^ ^ ^ exactly why I take most mag write-ups with a grain of salt.

That's also what I was getting at in my post on the first page ... "top" and "bottom" of class are decided by opinions, not facts or anything you can measure. Then add in a little bit of bias, and the favorite will come out shining, while the loser ends up sounding like it's a pile of $h!t.

I didn't realize how fast the Mazdaspeed 6 was, a 14.0 flat, whoa.. I was surprised about the G6 though, I thought it would have pulled a much better time then the 14.9 they run. Did they purposely leave the traction control on or something?

Actually one of the reasons I like watching top gear...sure they bag anything and everything but atleast they always take the cars screeching sideways on their test track...and hey they loved the GTO..

C&D can be "biased" (a subjective label while we're on the topic), but the G6 GTP just is not quite good enough considering the competition. This is coming from a huge Pontiac fan.

Just take a look at the specs. What's changed from the GT in terms of suspension? Nothing. Hydraulic steering a sports sedan does not make.

Compare that with another offering from Pontiac - the Grand Prix GXP. A bit homely it might be, but those engineers combed over that humble W-Body platform and turned out something genuine. That's what the G6 GTP is missing. Until it gets that sort of treatment, it's a poser.
