I just visited the Arhab Chevrolet site, and they have the '04 model featured you can get a Caprice LS, Caprice LTZ, Caprice Royale, and coming soon Caprice SS.
I can't seem to find any pics. of the previous SS, I have some on my laptop but the motherboard went 10-7.

That's the kind of **** we need here in the US!

Did anyone else notice the new Impala SS is quicker than the 94-96's?

Just though i'd bring in a reality check in the midst of the FWD V6 bashing. The 94-96 Impy's sure were slow!

Maybe it's just me, but I think a RWD Caprice wouldn't sell all that well. I think people looking for a nice RWD are drawn more to Caddy with the CTS or else something German. I think if GM is going to make a big sedan to sell well, it has to be AWD. An affordable nice sedan with AWD, that sounds like a seller for chevy.

I believe a Caprice would sell in America as long as its in a good package like the Mid-East Caprice but maybe a little bigger. Back in the 80s the square bodied Caprice was a huge seller all the way up until 1989-90 its last year at that point it had been out 13 years without a sigificant redesign. In mid 1990 the new Caprice came out and sold well its first year, but after that the sells started falling mainly becuase the huge bubblely look left a bad taste in peoples mouths. Later just as GM killed the B-Bodies sells were picking up after a styling freshening a much better interior and the optional LT-1. If they had originally came with the Caprice styled like the 95-96 models with the LT-1 I believe to would have beem alot more sucessful

Bigger? The Aus built caprice has more leg room than a 7-Series?

Well I've never seen the Caprice in person, when making reference to the Caprice I always visualize a Caddy Catera which is close in size to our current Impala. But your Caprice is a stretched version of this platfrom. So how much bigger is the Caprice/Statesmen from the regular length?

Dude, that was 7-8-9 years ago! A lot has changed since then. When the 94 Impala SS came out, it was very fast. It still is, the cam profile in the Impala SS LT1 has loads of wonderful, tire smokin torque.
