More 2004 Caprice pic
The last picture I posted of the Caprice wasn't too good, but it seemed to still attract alot of fans. Here is a picture someone shot overseas, courtesy of Car Spy Shots.

BTW, FWIW, "If" Chevy were to make a RWD sedan within a few years, it won't likely be Impala.

Yeah, youre tearin' me up...what else do you name a full size Chevrolet sedan
A rear drive v8 Caprice and a fwd Impala would be strange

That car as the RWD V8 model and the Impala as the FWD V6 would be good and give good choice to the buyer. I'd like to see that car and that name here again, it's a great choice for Camaro owners that need daily drivers or just people who want a good full size car, which F*rd can't seem to get right.
Its not an all new car, but a mid-cycle updating. The Mid-Eastern Caprice came out in 2000. Its still based on the stretched Opel Omega (Caddy Catera) platform.
It would be really nice to see something like this from Chevrolet here. I really don't see Buick when I see the Caprice, it reminds me more of something on the level of what Olds was making before the plug was pulled, and that is by far the best interior I've seen in any Chevy.

Looks good. Its very much a Catera/Omega based and it has their looks. The interior is nice but very Holden like, dash, console, steering wheel. Nice car and it would do ok here. Especially with the correct wheels driving. GM could do a lot with that car in an SS version.

The FWD Impala is doing well right now, and GM doesn't intend to do "volume" RWD cars for a few more years, instead resorting to a "trickle down" strategy. Luxury-Performance cars get them 1st, then as people actually accept that RWD w/ traction control is just as good as FWD, trickles down to volume cars (ie: Impala).
As for what it will be called, names can be changed up to a couple of months before production (remember the 1989 FWD Ford Mustang IV?), so honestly, there's no telling what it will be called.
If you want me to speculate:
1. Chevrolet brings out the full sized Caprice, identical to what's being sold in the Middle east (based on Holden's Statesman), as a full sized luxury car for Chevrolet (something Chevrolet is sorely lacking).
2. A couple of years later, Chevrolet redoes the Impala on a shorter Caprice Chassis (ie: Holden's Commodore is a shortened Statesman/ Caprice) at a higher volume, using many of Caprice's body pieces with a different look.
Again, I'm just guessing.

looks almost like its should be a buick
