You are right. I knew what they meant, and still typed it in wrong while copying the numbers.
Trust me... if Ford popped a 5.4 into an Explorer ALL the boards would come alive!

Interesting thought though, eh?

I realize the lines are smooth, but when you look at a true front profile, the car appears a bit taller and more blocky - which is what the air has to move around. Just my opinion though.
Nevermind the aerodynamics - the new profile and design should be very beneficial to field of vision, seating posture/position, step-over, and general ride comfort. I think the freshening is a welcomed change to the car.

I much prefer lower, sleeker and more curvy lines in front. But the front end on the new Mustang also appears tall, blocky and woefully inefficient at moving air at high speeds...doesn't mean it is.

As for the Mustang... it IS a brick. Cd is terrible. The honeycombs in the grill were closed off to force air over and around the car to make it more stable at higher speeds. Hau T-T admits in a press release that the car was made for looks and concessions were made to keep those looks - drag being one of them.
The whole Impy thing is just my opinion - that's all I ever said.
It's no biggy!

Most stiking thing IMO was the height of the front grill and hoodline... it seemed a bit taller than the 89 LX 5.0 I was in, and I know the trunk was higher no doubt.

Don't exactly get to ckeck top-end speed in a rental car these days though.
(Though Hertz let you have at it in a 1966 Shelby GT350H back when!)
Can't wait 'til Avis puts me in a new one for a spin....
Re: Michigan State Police cop car shootout results.
I think it's a good thing the manufacturers are NOT putting their hottest motors in police vehicles.
With choppers and radio, the need for high speed pursuits is over. Just radio ahead and lay out the spikes.
Cops waste more gas than I can imagine, tearing off at 3/4 throttle from every light. Openly flouting speed limits. And just driving plain recklessly.. because they can.
V6 mid size sedans are just right for the job they need to do.
