This again?

What Rolls Royce could not be a Bentley? What Chrysler could not be a Dodge? What Acura could not be a trim level for Honda? What Maytag washer could not Kenmore.

Branding is everywhere...Pontiac existed, and was GM's second best selling brand because people wanted cars more expressive than a run of the mill Chevy.

I agree....more money for Chevy. I can't wait to see their lineup. Pontiac had been holding them back for years. When Pontiac did have a nice car everyone complained about their dealerships overcharging....

Well when the market wont sustain Chrysler Corp. or Dodge Brand (pre-Fiat) let alone justify the existance of Pontiac then I think this thought is relevant conversation.
