I think the Futura (or whatever they call it) will have an AWD option as well. I believe i've read that AWD and hybrid engines will be optional down the line, and so this is a possiblity.

Z28ever...yeah, rumor is that it'll have a 250-270hp 3.5L Duratec, but i wouldn't count this engine out either. I guess it'll come down to cost, fuel economy, etc....

Just makes me think GM needs something to compete - Either that or the Cobalt's 205hp figure is REALLY underrated.

The only problem with Mazda is it still has the curse of the blue oval.

Yup, GM is slacking hard on the AWD performance cars. The AWD G6 better come out soon and offer a 285HP S/C 3.5L V6.

I'm not so sure about that. My 4-banger isn't exactly miserly on the fuel, and it takes 93 octane too.

Turbo 4's have soo much more economical horsepower potential though. Mine dynoed out at 350 at the crank with about $1000 worth of mods (catback & chip). The only problem I see with the mazda is that its engine will be new and it will take a few years for parts to come out for it. The Evo's 4g63 has been around for years and with in the first year here, the evo had countless aftermarket parts & kits available for it with some cars running in the low 10's.

I like the looks of the Mazda 6 a lot (A LOT) better than the Mitsu Evo. It's also better looking IMO than the new WRX (everything was already better looking than the original WRX ). Even though it's only an I4, I believe Mazda will have a winner on their hands.

This stuff about the lack of GM products though - just keep in mind that GM has affiliation with Subaru, and the STi is pretty nice too... not to mention how Saab is starting to leverage the Subaru drivetrains in its product lines...

You know...looking at this Turbo AWD Mazda6....makes me think.

Pontiac is trying to re-define itself. "The American BMW" strategy isn't going to fool too many people. But this MazdaSpeed 6.....this is where Pontiac should go.

Probably single turbo, mistyped. Unless they are doing a setup similar to TT Supra, where one turbo was smaller for quicker initial boost and the other turbo was bigger for the all-out performance boost. Or was it Nissan 300ZX?
You're right. It's the Supra - it has sequential turbos (one turbo feeds another). Last gen. RX7 had sequential turbos as well. 300ZX had tandem twin turbos - one for each bank.
