So..... you don't know how to post a link?

EDIT: After reading the context of your quotes, you were simply trying to defelct the dealer gouging arguement. Interesting how you can change your tune depending on the topic of the day.

FWIW, dealer gouging was in place until the rebates showed up and basically forced the dealers hand. Yes, I know... I actually shopped for this car.

I understand the 2005 GTO is not a full year run...I pointed that out when you tried to justify 1k sales over a 12 month period, considering the new GTO is scheduled I think to come out in October.
Wanna bet soemthig that they'll build all 12k GTO's?

Once again you stand by f"actual" numbers. That is all your nuthugging self can cling to at this point in this thread. And once again I call you out as to why the "factual numbers" mean absolutely nothing But liek I also said earlier, if you makes you feel good to throw your wonderful "factual" numbers around, more power to you
How exactly are you calling me out? What exactly is your big problem with the GTO that you can't see or admit that the car has been selling at or above projections since around September of last year?

Yes you are a nuthugger. Anyone who praises endlessly using those "factual" numbers on any vehicle that has sold less than 1k a month is a bonafied GM nuthugger.. Or maybe we can reduce it to a GTO nuthugger, since you do have some critisims of GM
OK, so I'm not a GM nuthugger now, just a GTO nuthugger? Well, if you read some other posts of mine on the GTO, I've mentioned several things that I think GTO could have done better... too much steering effort, mirror image of the radio, lack of heated seats, electrochromatic mirrors, external temp gauge, compass, homelink transmitter...

And, God forbid, I use actual facts to back up a statement. Silly me.

Welcome to CamaroZ28.Com. There are quite a few of us who enjoy seeing GM cars suceed. It doesn't matter if its 800 cars or 25,000 trucks a month.

I guess I am also a "nuthugger."

If you can't figure it out by now on hilarity of your "factual numbers" you never will. Either you are just a clueless GTO nuthugger, or one just in denial when it comes to the reasonings behind your "75%" statements.. You have gone from backpeddling to denial..

I have no problem with the GTO itself in the post (well other than it's styling and overpriced MSRP), but you would like to turn it into this..I do have a problem when someone brags about the percentages you rambled but refuse to acknowlegde what they truely represent...NOTHING

FACT: GTO has been selling at or above sales projections since September of 2004.

End of story.

Look at you . I never once said what you claimed, proved it posting the actual quotes of me saying the exact opposite of what you claimed, and your response is this??? My god have you turned the backpeddling and denails to new levels here. Simply brilliant. Backpedling nuthugger!

End of story.
God I hope so. Your fantasy land reality of your factual numbers is one hell of a story

BTW Darth, I have to give you some credit. I have never seen someone backpeddle like yourself in this thread. I need to get back to work now (spending too much time in this thread) but for this wonderful postings back and forth, I am going to honor you in my sig below.

OK, fine... if you say that GTO stock was insufficent for significant sales, then what's your problem with early GTO sales numbers? You've blasted it forever!

Dealer gouging did not fade until the rebates started showing up in September, and basically forced away the markups.

Again, GTO has been selling at or above projections since last September, and you refuse to acknowledge this, and have some need to see it fail.

God I hope so. Your fantasy land reality of your factual numbers is one hell of a story
So, are we going to make a bet on wether or not 12000 2005 GTO's get built or not?

Sorry, I'm not backpeddling.

But you are setting an Internet record for trying to see how many times you can type the work "nuthugger" in one thread.

Re: Malibu sales are up 60% so far this year!!!

Just crunching a few of your numbers then ...

If you claim that the first "5 months" of sales were low because lack of availability, that would put us to May of 2004.

If you accept that GTO has been selling fine since September of 2004, then you are basing the complete failure of the GTO (in your opinion), on three months (June, July and August of 2004) ...and say that there was no dealer gouging in this time, even though these three months are most likely the 3 months that a RWD sports coupe would be most in demand. Also, when was it leaked that the 2005 GTO would get the LS2 and the hood scoops? That undoubtedly played a role as well.

Look at you trying to rehash a dead argument, because the denial and backpeddle king can't come to grips with his laughable "75% facts" in this post, you have to dig up old dead posts. I even predicted you would do this earler in this thread . Thanks for once again proving my point. "Backpeddling Nuthugger".......... the name has been proven by yourself more than I could even imagine in this thread.

Hey don't get me wrong...I do not dislike you....I honored you in my sig. That has got to mean something.

Re: Malibu sales are up 60% so far this year!!!

Darth, this goofball is worse than redzed...don't let him get to you! Back away from the keyboard, my friend Oh, by the way...I never answered you with regard to your friend's G6 GT lease. Yeah, $233/month with 0 down sounds good to me. I didn't run a lease on Saturday to compare, but if that's a 12k/year lease it sure sounds reasonable to me. I think I've seen advertised lease specials on G6s down to $189 or 199, but those were base models...the payment seems in line.

I would like to comment on the GP issue, being a GP owner. Frankly, the style makes me want to hurl, both in and out (no slam meant, Darth, as I know you own one...but I have never liked the new style). There are only 3 things I like better inside the new one over even the old model. The seats at least have SOME lateral support, which cannot be said for my pancake-flat seats in my car. Further, metal interior door handles are a step up, while finally, I like the leather in the new car way better than the one-step-above-the-vinyl-in-my-dad's-old-'79 Chevette found in my '01 GP GT.

But the style has never caught one even close to the old one. I sold more '03s than '04s even though the '03 was then 6 years old! And I agree...the '05 GP wreaks "GM old school," whereas the G6 flat blows it away. We have a base G6 on the showroom floor in black next to a silver GP GT...what a difference.

Personally, this GP is my first and will definitely not be my last. I love it. But the style and lack of doors (as in TWO) that make me love it most are lacking in the new car. I don't see where the interior of the new car, while being more modern looking, has ANY advantage to the old car outside of what I mentioned above. In fact, I like my dash far better, and always have. I think even the materials the dash is made of are nicer, despite what the auto rags want to tell you.

But now, the G6 will soon give me the # of doors and the style I want. I will probably buy another GP when this one is dead, but I will say one thing...it will NOT be the current iteration. Advantage = G6, for now. And if they call the new GP a G8? I'm sending hate mail to Settlemire...he's become effective at handling the anger of GM customers at losing hallowed nameplates

Miss ya, red

What's the difference between being a GM "nuthugger" (get a new word, please!!!!) and a troll with an irrational hatred of the GTO? On a GM board filled with GM enthusiasts, the only difference is the troll is a lot more annoying!

So you don't want to address the "3 months makes a failure" posture you apparently have taken?

And no comment on the bet?

You keep dancing around everything just to see yourself type the word "nuthugger"... That's just wierd.

Aww look at Darthy, once again, deflect, backpeddle, deny, ignore. The only one dancing here is yourself trying to dance around your 75% figure you would love to forget here. I predicted you would do just this, and am having fun with it, that is all.

I figured you out many posts back Darth. I just love seeing you yet still backpeddle and do not even see this thread for what is is

No comment on the bet, I could care less actually Darth.
