It's funny how quick things are changing and how fast standards are evolving.

I remember when I 1st sat in the new Grand Prix a few years ago. I thought it was a huge improvement over the old one (let alone my Camaro), and a great quality interior. Now, they seem almost like junk next to the the latest from Ford and Chrysler, let alone the G6 sitting next to it.

If you compare it to the GTO, fergetaboutit!

I couldn't agree more. I remember sitting in the new GP at the autoshow when it first came out, and I thought it was great... now, it's just really bad.

I think there are 2 reasons I feel that way, and you touched on them both... interior quality is moving ahead very fast right now, and being that I drive the GTO every day, getting in and touching the interior pieces on the Grand Prix makes me want yearn for the time to turn it in when the lease is up.

I thought the GP was great too back in 2003 when it came out. Two tone interior looked very nice. Then the GTO came out and I sat in that, and drove one. Now I feel the GP needs a quick refreash, it is still better than the Nissan Altima though.

Ya, I really don't mind the layout of the Prix's interior, though there are a few "odd" looking shapes, but it's the materials and the way a few of them fit together....

Also, the seats are terrible, IMO...

I still think the styling is nice overall though.

Re: Malibu sales are up 60% so far this year!!!

GTO sales are up 75%...
LOL Still throwing around those numbers huh

You really are a GM nuthugger in it's true sense.. Considering the 2004 months you are comparing them to did not even have GTO inventiories on many GM lots.. Of course the numbers will be better considering most people could even buy a GTO in the first few months of 2004 ROTFLMAO!! You even mentioned many times also the huge dealer gouging also being a major factor.

But, shhhh... some people don't believe factual sales numbers!
You are the same person who used this lack of inventories to justify weak 2004 sales, yet now completely ignore them. Now that is funny.

Yet once again I have to point this out to you.. But I bet it sure sounds good for a GM nuthugger like yourself to use the "75%" numbers.. Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside We are talking about a car that has not even sold a 1000 units a month, and you are nuthugging the sales figures like it is something great or special. Keep up the good work with those "factual" numbers

You amaze me...

I guess I'm a "GM nuthugger", even though I am compalining about the Grand Prix's interior materials right here in this very thread, right?

And, to use your own arguement against you, since you obviously can't see the whole picture...

Let's say you are right, and GTO sales are up because there was not enough stock last year to generate higher sales.... then, you just gave GTO, the car you have a personal vendetta against for some reason , an excuse for having slow sales out of the gate....

You just shot yourself in the foot pretty hard! You've been saying GTO had been a poor seller for a long time, and blamed just about everything you could think of about the car... yet, now your arguement to deflect the consistant sales inceases makes you look like even more of a fool, because your arguement can only say that there would have been more sales last year if the stock levels were higher!!!!!

_____

EDIT: Ooouuu it gets even BETTER after your edit! No, I NEVER said GTO sales were slow because of lack of inventory... only that dealer gouging slowed sales. Huge difference!

First off, yes you are a upstanding GM nuthugger. Who else would brag about a less than 1k sales a month and claim it as great success.

Darth, the only one shooting themselves in the foot is yourself.

Sorry wonderboy,

I have always acknowledged lack of dealer inventories the first several months of last year. Do I need to re-quote when I said this earlier??

And yes, lets say I was right, because I am. Thanks for playing.

Good car overall, especially for the $$$$. I'm warming upto its rather bland styling, and wouldn't mind having one as a DD if they ever get to offering the 3.9L as an option.

Exactly what would you consider a successful number of sales for GTO? 6000 units per month? You do realize tey are only building 12,000 units, right?

Of course, this is all coming from someone who thought "sales deliveries" were vehicles delivered to the dealership!

Yes, why don't you dig up one thread where you said that... Please.

Re: Malibu sales are up 60% so far this year!!!

You got me on the sales deliveries thing.. I still need to pound the person who told me otherwise.. They post here also, but I will withhold their name for their own sake

FYI they are only building 12k GTO's bcause that is what GM thought the demand would be.. If they had sold better in 2004, there would be more in 2005 to sell Iam sure.

I will admit price gouging had a little impact at first with sales...Along with lack of availibility to dealers..
Everyone knows the first 5 months the dealers could not even have the cars shipped to them.

There ya go. Your welcome. I never once stated what you claimed about slow sales from the get go.

I have admitted to making some mistakes in other threads concerning the GTO, mostly when predicting future sales at the end of the year, BUT the funny part is watching someone like you when you make ridiculous claims, you can't handle it when someone calls you on them...Look at the backpeddling, fingerpointing and your nuthuggerdom right nwo in your posts while you dodge what you brought up originally in this post...You will most likely make another 20 posts in this thread trying to ignore it

Just suck it up and admit that you are sorry for nuthugging the "75%" figures and will look at the GTO more realistically as what it really is....a less than 1k a month vehicle that is nothing to be proud over.

The major reason that production was dropped from 18,000 to 12,000 units is twofold.

1) MY2005 GTO's were late arriving to the U.S.
2) GTO will be changed over to MY2006 according to the Holden plant schedule, which cuts the run short.

Your speculation about the 2004 not selling enough falls short.

Can you please post the links , like I asked for, to the threads you posted those statements in?

Lol. I am not dodging anything. I stand by the factual numbers GTO sales are up 75% for YTD vs last calander year. There are no ridiculous claims here.

Again, get over yourself with you "nuthuggerdom" You need a new word. I don't think a whole lot of people would say I am a GM nuthugger. Sure, I perfer GM products, but I've voiced many complaints as well. There's maybe one person I can think of that would agree with you, but you are not too dissimilar from him anyway.

Just suck it up and admit that you are sorry for nuthugging the "75%" figures and will look at the GTO more realistically as what it really is....a less than 1k a month vehicle that is nothing to be proud over.
Again. do a little math here, genius. If GTO sells 1000 units each month, it will sell the full 12,000 production.

And, again, if you can stop for a minute and understand the winter months are SLOW MONTHS for RWD sports cars, you'll see that the numbers should go up as spring and summer come along.

It is the one link with 116+ posts.. Both are in there. Same post as my sales deliveries remarks.. The post from hell. You figure it out genius.

I understand the 2005 GTO is not a full year run...I pointed that out when you tried to justify 1k sales over a 12 month period, considering the new GTO is scheduled I think to come out in October.

Once again you stand by f"actual" numbers. That is all your nuthugging self can cling to at this point in this thread. And once again I call you out as to why the "factual numbers" mean absolutely nothing But liek I also said earlier, if you makes you feel good to throw your wonderful "factual" numbers around, more power to you

Yes you are a nuthugger. Anyone who praises endlessly using those "factual" numbers on any vehicle that has sold less than 1k a month is a bonafied GM nuthugger.. Or maybe we can reduce it to a GTO nuthugger, since you do have some critisims of GM
