Lutz: Cadillac getting a 7.2L V12 600HP
You wont see a V12 Camaro if its going to go into a 100k+ Super Caddy.
That would probably be the dumbest GM could do, and a great way to take away any prestige of the V12 super caddy.
"My V12 S600 is a fantastic machine"
"Well my V12 ULS out performs it in every way, and has more luxuious features then your MB"
"Yes well, isnt that the same engine that is in a Camero..."
"uh..yeah...it is"
Done.
Get it out of your heads. Cant you guys just enjoy a supercharged pushrod motor?

One of the new six-speeds will probably be able to take that - the 6L80 in the STS-V is already handling 439 lb-ft, and it's not a stretch to suggest that there's a lot more strength available in the architecture. Maybe Joe will chime in...
EDIT: Ignore that last part - he'll just suggest using an Allison 1000

Heck, for added insurance, they could use the Allison 4000/4500 family. They go behind engines with torque in the neighborhood of 1200-1850 lb-ft or so.
But on a more serious note, That thing is too heavy and doesn't have enough gears.

The dry weight (no trans oil) of the 4000 is between 800-900 lbs. It's a six speed gearbox. There is also a 4700 model with 7 speeds, but in that case it adds an super low "creeper" first gear. That one weighs about 1100 lbs.

That's a bit beefy for a normal car or truck.
