Liters to Cubes Question

I know the 5.7 normally converts to about 350 cu.
What are some of the other ones. I just dont feel right talking about muscle engines in terms of Liters. Are these traditional GM sizes like the 396, 454, etc. ? Thanks.

5.3=? 6.0=? 8.1=?

Generally, they round up and down from the actual converted equivalent to make nice numbers to look at. ALL engines are designed using the metric system, but liters are kinda big so there's lots of "wiggle room" for rounding.

Since cubic inches are more precise, I'll start that way:

346 (the LS1/LS6 are 346 cubic inches, not 350) cubic inches = 5.669924 liters, rounded up to 5.7.

305 cubic inches = 4.998055 liters
327 cubic inches = 5.358570
350 cubic inches = 5.735472
383 cubic inches = 6.276246
396 cubic inches = 6.489277
409 cubic inches = 6.702309
427 cubic inches = 6.997276
454 cubic inches = 7.439727
496 cubic inches = 8.127984

4.8 liters = 292.9140 cubic inches
5.3 liters = 323.4258
5.7 liters = 347.8353
6.0 liters = 366.1425
6.2 liters = 378.3472
6.4 liters = 390.5520
7.0 liters = 427.1662
8.1 liters = 494.2923

Rule of thumb?

1 liter = 61 cubic inches

hp conversions

Similarly, since we have such an international flavor here at times (with all the Holden talk, etc):

1 hp is approximately 0.746 kW
1 hp is approximately 0.986 PS

So, for example:
350 hp ~ 261 kW
350 hp ~ 345 PS

cubic inches * 16.387064 = cubic centimeters
cubic centimeters / 16.387064 = cubic inches

346 * 16.387064 = 5669.924144 (round up to 5.7L)
5300 / 16.387064 = ~323.4258 cubic inches

(This appears to be the ratio that PacerX is actually using.)
