The front ;ooks too low and tapers down too much. Other than that, it looks cool, and the interior is way cool. I wonder if it is a mid engine, mounted like a Lamborghini?(Engine's accesories face the back of the car, while the transmission faces forward and is under the tunnel inside the car.

Eh, I don't really care for it, except the interior is kind of cool. :blah:

and another point: what's so special about this car that it will command a $100,000+ MSRP??? 500 hp? no...light weight? perhaps....racing pedigree? no....There is nothing else mentioned about any high-tech innovations or wizardry that would command such a price premium...oh, i get it: they will expect people to pay it because it's a Toyota (and that alone may be enough)

Well, Toyota is involved in F1 racing where they use V10s and aero is critical, so there is some racing pedigree there (as opposed to the Monte Carlo's 'racing pedigree'). I assume you mean a more directly related racing tie, like the new Z06, in which case I see what you are saying. I saw it in person last night, and like JED, my reaction was mostly :blah:, but fairly positive. The weird central exhaust outlet appears to result from aero-related underbody shaping, with the lower rear opening up around the rear suspension components to form a diffuser on each side. At least that is what it looks like standing behind it. Certainly a nifty car, but it didn't make me feel all warm inside (like the Z06 and F430 did). I'd like to see it in a darker color though.

"No sir, I didn't like it!"

In terms of styling that does nothing for me... looks like beached Sperm-Wale with wheels and a windshield.

Re: Lexus LF-A concept...

This car is more like a design exercise, since we all know Toyota is swimming in money.. I mean imagine if your actually part of this team in Toyota, it must be fun, with the budget relatively wide open, and being able to spend at least 3x more time, money, effort on the details and design.... being less constrained on $, and being able to concentrate on what exactly you want the style and engineering design to be..

and for the people that can afford cars like this, they may be swayed that this car is "neater" and worth the extra cash.... Come on, we all know the love of cars is not all just hard #'s and specs...

and like what B4C said.. Yea, I guess there's no racing pedigree since its a brand new car, although Toyota does compete in F1, which is arguably one of the top forms of autoracing, and at least marketting claims that the what they learned in F1 and its "spirit" goes into this concept car..

People pay $90k for the Acura NSX, so a 500hp great handling supercar from Toyota could sell in that price range no sweat. When you get up into this price level, people care less about value for the dollar and more about the image of the car.

Im imagining all right. Imagining that the program director is FURIOUS, since the best and brightest, and the biggest research budget, and themost R&D, and the most track time, and the most wind tunnel time, paid off with that thing.
