Does the Lexus design department have a banner hanging up that says "Make it boring and they will come?"

I mean, I really dont think its bleedingly boring styling will detract from the droves of diehard fans that dont have an ounce of automobile inspired emotion in them, but damn. I didnt think it was possible to build a car that bland.

the car doesnt do much as a whole but there are certain parts that i like. headlights for example. those headlights look pretty sinister to me.

the back looks an aweful lot like a 350z and g35 coupe to me tho...

Considering the G35 is damn near infallible by most standards (magazines, media, general opinion) right now, who's suprised?

Looks less jelly-beanish/ugly than the SC 430 (which I assume some derivitive of this concept will replace it) but it's still no attractive roadster!

I love the front/headlight area. But side profile, has a very nice profile to it, but nowhere near enough details. It's a little bit too smooth and simplified.

The rear end just downright weird... has an akward blend of ultra-modern combined with a retro/PT cruiser look. I don't like it.

I'm pretty sure that the LF-C is not really intended to represent anything they intend to bring to market... its main focus has been a hybrid/electric drivetrain and a whole new level of chassis/cross-platform design. I'm happy that they are at least going out on a limb in the styling department though. Think back to the older ES300, LS400, and GS300s from around 1992 until 1996... now those were boring. Now days they're doing a much better job of trying to develop their own unique styling direction, and I guess they just haven't found it yet. Although I think they could take a que from the 02+ ES300 / 04+ Solara and be doing quite well.

when boring car compaines try to change up there style...they make crap.

Toyota, stick to making bland, boring blobs. Your getting really good at it. Dont screw up now. Your just gunna find youself getting into a design element that you have never tried before because this concept just shows how bad you can do. Back to the cookie cutter plant.
