I think the people that buy the Ridgeline are the same types that buy the Explorer sportrac. They're not looking for a real truck so much as something they can use to go pick up a new grill with. Bricks, piles of parts, stuff like that... probably not what they're in to. They also proabably expect to see a little better mpg out of it. But I doubt the difference in real world driving would be very noticeable at all though.
For the $, I don't see why anyone would buy one with what you can get out of a Silverado/Sierra for the same $.
