3rd rows will be offered. And they have NOTHING in common with the current minivans (oops, I mean "crossover sport vans"

Have you had a chance to ride in any?
Re: Lambda Spy photo
No, that is not me. I've never been in any of them; the only lambdas I've seen were very early powertrain mules. Most would not know they were lambdas at all from the outside, because of the way they were disguised. I don't think I posted anything new in that post.
At least I hope not...I think the picture makes it pretty evident that it is a larger vehicle, and bringing a brand new, larger crossover unibody wagon/suv to market without a 3rd row option would be nuts.
Re: Lambda Spy photo
I can see the title of the review in MT/C&D...
"Attack of the Nerds"
Anyway, yeah Lambda will give us the crossovers that seem to be popping up left and right, and it gives a chance for GM to catch some buyers leaving SUV's for more of a softer ride.
V8...unibody construction...I think we could see a Ridgeline compeditor, but with its sales in the gutter, maybe not. But it would be great to show that GM can find succsess in a market that Honda failed at.

Re: Lambda Spy photo
Lambda may be quite heavy duty. I recall that during "bubble up" it was considered, for a short time, as a possible platform for the next fullsize SUVs and trucks.

Are you sure you're not thinking of their minivan, the Freestar? I believe those will be dead in the near future.

In the Freestar's case, it's sales aren't even competitive. Even GM's minivan redesign is walking over them.... not too long ago, it was the other way around.
On the Freestyle, my understanding is that Mercury will be the sole line to sell this vehicle, so it's not like it's going away completely (I didn't read the Automotive News article since the link only showed part of it).
