LAFocus Drive Test in Agoura

This could be nothing this could be everything. Last week I received an invitation by L.A. Focus to participate in an automotive drive test in Agoura Hills. The letter was very similar to the GONGOS letter I received a year ago. The letter said:

Dear Vehicle Owner:

An automobile manufacturer is inviting a select number of certain Vehicle Owners to participate in a research study to be held in Agoura on July 22nd - 28th. As one of only a small number of owners of your type of vehicle in the area, your participation is very important.

At past studies, our guest have found the opportunity to express their opinions on automobiles to be an informative and enjoyable experience. At the same, you will be helping the automotive industry build vehicles the way people like yourself want them to be.

.... 3 hours of your time ....$125 CASH honorarium .....call as soon as possible ...

I called back and played phone tag for a couple of days. I finally got ahold of a person today (transfered from phone to phone) and I found out the study was completely booked . The lady at the other end of the phone did say something kinda interesting though.

After I said I wanted to participate in the Agoura Test Drive. She asked me what kind of car I drive. I said 2002 Chevrolet Camaro. She said "Oh, camaro drive test. That study is completely filled. We have all days scheduled. We only need women that drive V6 or V8 Mustangs. Thanks for calling back though"

I think it is a too much of a coincidence. It's been a year and a month since the GONGOS styling clinic and there is news of VE mules being tested elsewhere. Plus the whole female Mustang owner angle, too big of a coincidence. If anyone here is registered to attend this study please post what you saw on this board. Hell, I might just ditch a day of work and hang out there looking for mules.

VERY interesting. I can't believe you're the only board member to get these invitations, you would think someone else here or at LS1.com would be attending...we just need to find this person and get the goods!

Sounds like a follow up to your original GONGOS get-together.

Damn, it would have been great for you to get in there again, especially sinc you saw it before, and see what has changed over the 13 months.

Very interesting and inline with my thoughts on the next Camaro.

Well, I passed on this thread because I thought it would be about something else but i am glad that i checked it out. V6 and V8 women Mustang drivers only......................hmmmmm. So I guess they are testing the waters for how women will react to the vehicle. I'm not sure how I feel about that even though I know it is necessary for sales.

heh, yeah. it turns out that women DO indeed drive automobiles. what's this world coming to?

sarcasm...

but i do know what you mean. you're concerned with GM making the next camaro more effeminate to appeal more to the female drivers. i seriously doubt they'll make it look like a "cute" or "chick" car.

Is that the proof we've been all looking for or did i read that wrong. Is that supposed to be the test drive for Camaro owners or a test drive with 5th gens?

Please be 5th gens
