I really don't think it matters about Kid Rock, as I don't think for a minute that someone who wanted to buy a ZR1 would not buy it based on who was at it's intro., let alone even remember this when it's actually in the showroom.

Why is the sound so far off from the video? Or is that something on my computer?

Either way, the car looks badass!

In many ways, the ZR1 *IS* about excess and over-the-topness and in-your-face attitude. What is the first thing everyone says about what Chevy wants to do with the ZR1 -- stick its lower price and higher performance in the face of all the snooty Italian & German machines. And we all love it. Now everyone wants to turn around and say that the car is "above" all this bombastic promotion? Really? A 650+ HP Corvette? So chalk it up to playing to the same themes.

You may not think Kid Rock fits (and I'm not personally a huge fan of his), but let's face it, the car already is an "embellishment". And I really don't see 'Vette enthusiasts suddenly not wanting the car because some Detroit rocker played during the introduction.

I can't believe GM would affiliate this car with him at all...

Freaking marketing fools.
I agree, this Vette is supposed to be stealing sales from Porsche. I don't know how Kid Rock help achieve that.

What a bunch of stiff asses LOL

Seriously, some people here are pissed that Kid Rock played GM Style and that the ZR-1 was on stage with him?

Pissed? I don't know about pissed.

It was just stupid.

Why do marketing folks always seem to go after the lowest common denominator?

has been? the guy just put out another hit album??
Just becuase hes not plastered on the headlines like Spears does not mean hes washed up..in fact hes the opposite...in many ways..

And to say why him? has anyone ever seen his collection of what he has had? Would put most "car guys" collections to shame..

I think he fits perfect with ZR1..the guy loves american performance and hes is a tried and tested rock star..I think it went very well...

The common approach that I've read to this post is that it is "wrong" for the Corvette ZR-1 to be on the same stage as Kid Rock.

Guess what.

You have to see Kid Rock before you can say anything. Did anybody who is badmouthing this see the performance on the live webcast? I'm going with no, and it's unfortunate but you won't be able to because it won't be available for replay.

Here's another thing to chew on.

Every single person from GM from TOP to BOTTOM had nothing but PRAISE about Kid Rock at the GM Style event last night.

I heard people argue with each other. One GM person said "Kid Rocks not my style...BUT he did a GREAT job last night."

I heard another say 'You're crazy, Kid Rock IS my style and you need a new taste in music!"

GM was VERY pleased with Kid Rock last night. Hopefully we see more.

Oh, and the poster above me is right. Maximum Bob Ritchie...(that's Kid Rock) did just come off a #1 album. So much for some of your prejudgements.

Kid Rock is who older people associate with cool/tough. They are the ones buying this thing, so that's why he's there. Besides, it isn't our marketing money, so who cares.

Now that we've got people talking, who do you not want to see bring in the new Camaro?
